I am going to be changing the plugs in my car and was also looking at new plug wires. Which plug set is better? I would think the Ford Racing ones but BAT sells them for $63 and the cheapest Motorcraft ones I can find are $85 so I'm not really sure, as thats a big $$ difference.

Is there a better plug wire set at comparable price?

Thanks for the help.

when i changed mine i used Duralast from auto zone, they were 49.99 and it has a life time warranty, i have had them on my car for about 2 months now and i have had no problem with them!! but that's just my 2 cents..

I know Taylor makes a set that a few on here have used and liked. I've got autolite professional series on my SVT and they've been good so far.

Get Motorcraft. I just recently replaced my FMS wires after only 14k miles. They went bad:blackeye: I was warned before about buying them but since they were cheaper i thought forget it. I just thought i might get a set that would last. I was naive.

same here:). except i've had my ford racing wires for less than 2000miles. no problem yet tho. except a couple of the wires are starting to brown up at the coilpack connexn. warning sign for whats to come? or is that normal?

Thats normal, even my Motorcraft wires did that.

Good luck with your set man.

i always had ford racing wires on my car. only problem with them is they are fatter than stock so they don't quite fit int he wire looms correctly. some dremeling and a zip tie fixes that though.

I have had Ford Racing wires on my car for about 80,000 miles now with no problems. I'm happy with them. I cannot recommend them though since there have been many complaints here about short life.

I did the same thing. Black zip ties ftw.

I've never had any problems with my Ford Racing wires, I've had mine for probably 30K-40K miles now and they still work and look as good as the day I put them in.

i had them on for about 40-50k miles i guess. i changed them and the plugs cause i was getting a misfire...but i don't know what was causing it, the plugs or the wires i mean.

I ripped mine off cause i had and still have a miss fire. :blackeye:

Nobody can find the problem and i'm really fed up with my car!!! 240 miles to a full tank is driving me nutts right now.

my ford wires were garbage, high rpm missfire so i changed them back to OEM, hyaven't had a problem since. just get the motorcraft ones, at least for the piece of mind.

Go Motorcraft. And call Steve or Kevin up at Tousley Ford at 800-328-9552 to get them. I'm confident you'll see a price far below the $85 you've been quoted to date.
