Popping when turning

Everytime I turn the wheel, it doesnt matter what speed, even at a standstill, there is a popping noise and feel from the passenger side. It is probably about 10 pops or so peak to peak. I searched on here and figured it was the cv joint and that the halfshaft needed to be replaced. But then I had a friend turn the wheel and I looked at the passenger side wheel well and I noticed it seems like the spring is popping. The spring moves a little bit, and then pops and goes back to its original position. I'll try to get a video of this, but for now, any one have any ideas? I dont want to replace the axle and have that not be the problem. Thanks
edit-it does have a Koni suspension kit installed, if that makes a difference

Yea most of us that do our own work. LOL! You have to take apart everything. I could have it apart in about 15 minutes but I've done it a million times. That doesn't include putting it back together. You'll need a spring compressor.

The part is cheap. The labor not so much. Post your location like we tell everyone here. Usually someone in your area that can do it for cheap.

Sorry, my locations up now. I'll maybe start a thread later, I just want to make sure that it is the upper mount before I go buying/replacing it.
Thanks for the help

replace your upper strut mounts and bearings.
The upper strut bearing makes a grinding or popping sound when bad. It is easy to tell because the bearing "itself" will literally come apart if it is bad.
They are cheap to replace. You can pull the front strut still attached to the hub in about 30 minutes.
Make sure it is not the front wheel bearing that is bad. It also makes a popping and grinding sound. Wobble in the wheel when the weight is off wheels is a symptom of a bad bearing.

i have a pretty interesting crunch/popping noise when turning. after last nights axle iv realized that my ground control spring is slow crushing away the threaded collar. is this due to my koni's being in worst shape than anyone elses koni's? i mean their isn't even oil to leak out of the fronts anymore.

Im no mechanic, but with some instructions I may be able to do it. I jacked the car up and got no movement from the wheel any way.

Check the how-to's on the main site and the how to section. Should be plenty of help there. The hardest part is usually getting the control arm joint out of the spindle.
