Well I finally got around to installing one of these. However I did something a little different compared to everyone else I think. I absolutely hated the fabric lid cover and dying it was not going to happen. Midnight blue is impossible to match as it is. So looky what I pulled off (I'm waiting on the single cup holder to come in the mail and please excuse the mess I need to vacuum out the car I know)...

Took my old rear door panel that had a busted speaker grill and tore it apart. Stripped the leather off the door and scrapped all of the padding behind it off and ironed it out. Some 3M 77 adhesive spray and wal-la.

Its surprising you still have a tape player in that car.

Other than that looks good.

Did the SVTs come with the built in arm rest on the drivers seat?

If it did, then how did you get it off?

SVTs had the arm rest on the center console ... with it on the seat it either slides off or you un-screw it to remove it ...

As Brapple said SVT's had a center console with the armrest on it. I believe someone put together sometype of how-to on the old forums to remove it. Do a search and you may find it.

As for the tape player... yea my SVT was one of the first and the previous owner (who was the original owner) did not fork out for the options (at the time) of the sunroof and CD player.

I'm going to be installing a flip up LCD DVD/CD/MP3 player, but the one I want is flipping expensive so it is going to be a while. I just decided to buy more worth while things first like my Torsen LSD, WR headers and other performance/aesthetic mods.

OMFG carpets man. Nice attempt better then stock that for shure. Why are there spots on the arm rest?

Personally when I do the console swap I'm going to try to find some auto apulstery(Spelling Nazi where are you!) place and have a nice leather cover for it.

im more surprised that you posted pictures of your filthy interior.
seriously, letting your floormats and carpet get that dirty is unexcuseable imho. I'd literally be embarrassed if mine were that dirty.

Center console looks good though lol.

Why are there spots on the arm rest?

Looks like he burnt the vinyl when he was ironing it. It is defenitly a great idea, but it would look much better if you had it professionally installed on the armrest. The 3m tape should be a temporary thing just to give you an idea of how it will look. But other than that it is a good idea. Thanks for posting pics!

And by the way, it's not leather...

I'll try to answer all of these at once...

I could careless about the floor mats. I was smart and bought midnight blue replacement mats for my car. I use the crap ones in the winter

I also use leather cleaner/conditioner on my seats regularly to keep them in tip top shape.

I didn't burn the vinyl with an iron :nonono:

and its not 3M tape either!!

The spots on the vinyl are from the 3M 77 spray. I had to work quickly and some of it got on my hands... in turn it also got on the vinyl as I was pulling it tight over the cover. I waited till it was dry to scrub it off, the spots are now gone. I was just in a rush to show everyone what I had done I had to take pictures ASAP. Also as I mentioned above it is not 3M tape, it is 3M 77 adhesive spray. This is the same stuff you can use to hold up the headliner as well. It's not coming undone any time soon. However if you would have read more closely you would have seen that in my initial post

Yea I have 2 full cans sitting in my cabinet

I bought them up when I heard the rumor that it was discontinued.

I gave TRicker the other can I had for helping me out at the junkyard, it had 3/4 left in it.

I will pay good money for those cans! Please sell them to me.

My Redline boots and armrest cover came in today and I'm just about done installing and fitting them on my console.
