pre98 trunk...

So when I was helping my dad pick up a rear bumper for their 98 Contour SE I found a T-red pre98 trunk begging me to take it home. As it turns out the t-red paint doesn't match my SVT's t-red so I'm going to have to paint it, but heres a pic of it installed. I pulled it off pretty much right away I just wanted to see how it looked. I still have to pull the Ford emblem and I also have a lip spoiler that needs to get installed on it.

What do ya guys think (and yes the light shows through the lights I turned them on to check)?

i dont know how much i like the tinted tails, but it looks pretty nice on there! i finally got all the crap off of my trunklid from the emblems. took me forever.

I don't like the way the reverse lights looked so I blacked them out so they didn't show. Looks smoother IMO.

As far as getting the emblems off... a hairdryer and some nail polish remover made short work of it. Well and some 3M rubbing compound and some elbow grease.

i tried everything, and i dont know what it was about these emblems, but they were a huge pita to get the sticky crap off. it was really hard on there.

haha, no. i did it in the shop at my school. i tried googone and a heatgun, didnt do squat. i ended up getting it all with a clay bar.

Thats what people said about my taillights now. However I posted up pictures with the lights on and then the brakes on and you can see it plain as day. These are no different

What year is that trunk from? 96-97 im guessing?

I always found it a bit weird that both 96-2000 had the same "FL" Toreador Red, but the colors are slightly off. :shrug:

You know I didn't look at the tag of the drivers door or the VIN so I don't know what year it was.
