the way I read it the only way to build a detacted garage in wakefield is that it has to be behind the house. But if they connect it to the house then it can be anywhere on the property
Wakefield rules are such that if you build a garage...
1. If it is detached, the front wall of the garage cannot be beyond the farthest back wall of the house
2. If it is attached, it cannot extend any further than the front wall of the house.
My father-in-law, jokingly said to just build a garage, and nail a 2x4 to the garage and the house. hahahah. The only downside to building that garage is that we'll lose a little of our yard. We've toyed with squaring off the yard by cutting into the hill a little bit and putting up a retaining wall, but I think we've abandoned that idea. We're likely decking out some of the back yard. It would lead from the back door off of the kitchen, into the yard, and cover the patio area where we were sitting outside under the tent.
