I've been hearing some banging noise from the back end of my car and finally decited to take a look. I took some camera phone shots of some intresting things I found.

Are there supposed to be bolts here?

I had somthing drip on me from what looks like a gas line - but it doesn't smell like anything and tasted salty.. I'm thinking it has to be water from the road - but I havn't driven through rain in quite some time...

This plastic cover sits on the bottom of the gas tank

It looks like both sets of rear control arms are either bent or slightly smashed..

The sway bar is still atached and apears to be functioning. I took a peek at the pasanger side strut and it looked a little rusty - but not broken.
(The car was sitting at an angle - further inspection with car off ground may prove otherwise.

Yea thats your rear subframe and yes there are supposed to be bolts there. lol man i would pay money to see you take a bumpy turn at 40 MPH. i think you might be able to order those bolts from your local ford shop or check the parts source on this web site?

Also dont worrie about the line i think its condensaion line from your trunk? lol I THINK

Judging from the first pic, you or someone incompetent tried to jack the car up by the stamped control arm...

lol - that could be where my rear end noise is comming from. I can take onramps at about 65 if I want to - I will stop by a dealership some time for the bolts.

I noticed both rear control arms to be bent either uplike that or to the front like it fell off a jackstand. Time for some upgraded arms :D

lol i know this is going to sound stupid but i tryed to jack up my car on the stamped arms... lol stupid me i should be trout-slaped for that one. I have an uncle who tasts eveything on his car.... old mechanic never dies in them lol gas/oil/aintifreeze/brake fluid. And yea he is still alive.

Good luck with the car you might want to check your rear swaybar tabs i would be willing to bet they might be on there way out due to the bolts missing. Extra stress might of snaped them off.

No there are no bolts that go through those holes. Those are used when the subframe is installed to guide it into the correct position. There are 4 bolts that hold the subframe to the bottom of the car.

I kinda thought that myself - there are some holes just like those on the front subframe. I didn't see any threads inside the holes either. Tonight I'll be installing an aftermarket hi-flow y-pipe so afterward I guess I can see whats up. I have a friend who works for tires plus who said I can drive up on one of thier hoists to take a look under there... I looked at the rear sway bar and it looked to be ok - but I didn't look very hard :blackeye:

Noise like that has typically been the sway bar end links. Which reminds me, I've gotta replace a couple sets of those myself.

I dont think any bolts are supposed to be there casue mine is the same and im getting banging. Check your rear sway bar thats my problem im gonna change it out soon!

You said something about upgraded rear control arms. All i can find are regular ones! Where can you get upgraded ones??

Yeah - I realized that.. Went to a drive in movie whith a cooler full of ice. Forgot it was back there + some spirited driving tiped over the cooler. Water came out of the cooler and drained out. I figured that one out when I opened the trunk to put some Mothers day flowers in it...
