I actually prefer Saleen. I dont agree with either companies prices tho, and that is why SVT was always better (untell they decided to kill it)

I think for a long time, Saleen had the edge in appearance, and especially marketing; but now, w/ the new mustangs, and Saleen more focused on the S7, the tables have turned. I think Roush has had the edge in the engineering end of things for awhile now, because most of the SVT work for the last 10 years was at least partially contracted through Roush engineering.

As far as pricing, its a matter of what does it take to get there. The SVT model worked becuase they could be built alongside the mainstream cars, saving labor costs, and you didn't have to buy extra parts you didn't need. But w/ the Roush and Saleen type cars, you have to pay for an additional facility, extra skilled labor to both take apart the existing car, and to put it back together with the new parts. Not to mention they have to purchase a new car of a different trim level to start with, and all the take-off parts are either trashed or sold for pennies on the dollar.

i watch too many saleen mustangs breakdown and watch s7's breakdown. roush vehicles i watch get the crap beat out of them and just keep rolling.

roush and shelby are the two who could make a great performance ford. saleen seemed to be into it for money. it just seems like no r&d goes into their work. its just design and build.

now the company that can make a ford really good is roush.

ive got two friends who have saleen's...one is an '03 the other is an '02...and trust me, the get driven HARD...so where are you facts coming from? because as with any car...sometimes you get lucky sometimes you get one prone to problems

sometimes people can beat the snot out of a car without hurting it, sometimes people just dont know how to drive, or have no finesse, or the terrible combo..... someone that didnt know how to drive my car with a 100 shot of nitrous, a spec stage 3 clutch, and a stock diff, woudl probably blow it after launching 1 or 2 times. rich kids that buy saleens and pound on the drivelines, (i.e. revving and dumping the clutch in high gear to get the car to boost up) are gonna have problems. either way, it's a ford, with some bolt ons. thats about all i got to say about that...
