1) Those cops are doing their duty, but at least they don't go blabing constantly for no good reason. As I said Cam loves and wants to be on camera, it takes priority for him over actual police duties.

Woolley told the Star, "I think (Fantino is) pointing out that he's a no-nonsense guy and not to expect the same thing as me."
He said he's not worried, and that reporting the results of weekend blitzes was never actually part of his official job.
"I think it's been misunderstood significantly," Woolley said.
"I think what's confusing some people or getting some tongues wagging is that over the years at times senior command in the OPP left provincial traffic messaging to me, but it's not my mandate, it's not in my job description," he said.
"In the past it was difficult for me, sometimes, to get my work done. ... Now I can concentrate on what my job is," Woolley said. "I'm supposed to be the ground guy and I'm reverting to my actual job assignment (in local traffic issues)."

By the way, he was named OPP Officer of the Year for 2007 -- not sure if that is voted on by peers or not. As well, he has been decorated for bravery in the past for apprehending a bank robber.

2) Baseless statements? How about everytime there is a collision all he ever says is speeding. When did the words driver error ever come out of him? It's a witch hunt after speeders and "racers" these days, and he is the willing figurehead.
I don't agree with the OPP that stopping speeders is the be-all, end-all in reducing traffic fatalities either. Fantino talks a lot about speeding as well, and I don't see you proclaiming him a bad cop, or scum.

3) He has the right to do whatever he wants, I have a right to dislike him for it. His job didn't exist before he came around, the position was created for him, how or why is beyond me. Either way no Cam=no BS "traffic & safety specialist"

4) The cops who come on TV and state the facts and stick to the issues and keep it brief are fine. How many times have I seen Cam go on a tangent about speeders, and street racers being the cause of all the world's trouble. And Fantino is a prick to, his agenda goes against my beliefs. He also comes of as pompous, being so damn righteous and self-assured.
I don't know Cam, I don't want, he is blithering idiot, knowing him will cause me great anguish. I reiterate the hell with him and everything he stands for.

And you refute law and order? Traffic safety (regardless of what you think causes accidents)?
Speeding can constitute driving error, but not the way they throww the term around. The guy driving home from Kitchener at 3am going 150 km/h is demonised as being the murderer of children (and gets stiffer penalties it seems to). Yet it can be perfectly safe to do so.
Well, they get nailed as a "street racer" whether they are or not. I suspect that the first time someone really fights this law, we will see it come to an end. One gets branded without trial, by an officer on the scene. And, as for the stiffer penalties, they are exceeding the speed limit by 50 percent. Like it or not, they do frown on that sort of thing.
I believe in stricter licencing and improving public transit as the best methods to reduce collisions. Our goal should be to go faster, not slower. This is an encourging mediocracy at its best here.
Amen on stricter licensing requirements. Driving is a privilege, and not a right. And we should improve public transit for a lot of reasons.
That said, I will reiterate -- you have launched rather scathing personal attacks against a man whom you admittedly have not met, who has been a cop for 27 years, has been Officer of the Year, and has won an award for bravery. I will allow those reading this thread to draw their own conclusions.
