ST220 rebuild from Germany

Hi Guys,

This is Jonas from Germany and at first i gotta say, that this forum
up to now has really been the best forum for me and my ST220.
(Of course after the german forum www.mondeo-st220.de )

So now about my car. It's a 2006 Ford Mondeo ST220 Estate.
I bought it with 70.000lm on the clock, it now has 90.000km
I converted to E85 and now my piston on cylinder 1 is gone :-(

So I'm currently rebulding my engine and my first question is:

can anyone please provide my with the part numbers from Victor Reinz
oder Federal Mogul, or Mahle in the US, that fits my engine?

I already ordered the Fidanza Flywheel #186251,
a LUK organic clutch
an english-made MSDS-copy header-set,
the Sealed Power ring set and a piston set:
SLP-E-931K50MM
SLP-H881CP-50MM
and the clevite main bearing set.
Unfortunately I only ordered one pair of rod bearings, not 6, so I'm still missing 5!:blackeye:

There are gasket sets for the bottom end and the heads from Reinz in Germany,
but they all don't include any glue for the conversion.
I'm also looking for some Main-Studs but the ARP-ones are definately too expansive for me!

Not sure what you mean by "glue for the conversion"

However that said I believe these gaskets sets 'should' work for you.

Fel-Pro CS 9038-2 (conversion gasket kit for 2005 3L Ford Escape/Mazda MPV, includes oil pan gasket, front main seal, rear main seal, waterpump gasket, and breather gasket box between heads for your PCV system, see pic below) RockAuto has this set for $60.89 USD (€45.64 Euro)

Fel-Pro HS 26207 PT-5 (Head Gasket Set 2005 3L Mazda MPV, should include both head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, valve cover bolt o-ring seals, valve stem seals, timing cover gaskets, lower plenum gaskets, upper plenum gaskets, throttle body gasket, EGR gasket, IAC valve gasket, exhaust manifold gaskets, collector gaskets, picture below is of the Ford Escape kit, but yours should come with the correct LIM and UIM gaskets shown in the next picture.) RockAuto has this set for $179.79 USD (€134.78 Euro)

Hi again,

thank you CSVT#49 - that helps very much.

I wanted to show you guys the reason, why my engine failed:
Did anyone see such a piston before? Any possible causes?
It's the piston of cylinder 1.
First and second is a side view of the removed molten cylinder.
Third is a picture of the cracked awai piece "rubbed" on the sleeve surface.
And fourth is a picture of the cylinder still installed.
