stuck in 3rd!

i have no idea why, ive got a b&m short throw in it and today while it was snowing i tried going from 3rd to 4th and once i pulled back it felt like it never left 3rd...and i didnt, i can manually move it from 3rd to 4th while under the hood, but it was snowing pretty hard and didnt have time to investigate any further, any suggestions or knowledge?!!
 
Shift cable, shift cable end on either inside at the shifter or outside shere the cables attach to the trans.

When the shift cable end on my E0 wore out it left me stranded in 2nd. As a temperary fix, I used plastic ties to attache it back until I could sort out the problem and replace the cable end.

I would look first where you have just been, at where the B&M shifter attaches in the consol.
 
I had my svt out the shop for about a month when i jumped into traffic. During a speed shift into 3rd I felt my shifter come loose. I looked under the hood and everything was tight and normal, so Then i checked the Shift cable at the bottom of the shift lever under the boot. Turns out it the new shift cable that was installed popped off its ball. Just had to snap it on and i was good.
 
I had worn out cable end at the tranny and lost left to right movement lol I had to drive home in 3rd and 4th gear talk about a PITA lol if it is the ends at the tranny they are really cheap from bill. Hey actually I have a whole set of cables with ends from a 2000 CSVT if you find out you need parts PM me I have the shifter and tower out of the car too even
