Has anybody looked into the Escape & Sable radiators? Are they dimensionally similar to the Contour?

What the **** are you guys talking about. I work at a automotive store and I can still get them aftermarket. Aprox $200 canadian
Boo! I searched and searched and didn't find anything from you or Demon. The only posts I saw from you said the SVT rad was 44mm thick. I found 1 post in the old old archives that gave all 3 dimensions... but that 1 post doesn't give me much confidence in those numbers.Yep. Posted on the old forums by Demon and myself. Not searching.
Not to bad a price really. I couldn't go thicker as I have a oil cooler mounted in front of the condensor. FYI the other nite I ordered a radiator from an online parts store. They swore up and down it was for an SVT only and that it was an OEM peice. We shall see. Oh ya I paid $129 shipped! I am a little leary, but its worth a shot. 29 day return policy and 1 year warranty.
well then i'll have to come over and help you break it:laugh:
Thanks! Griffin said they could do single runs for around $500-530.. complete with mounting posts and condenser hooks & bottom brackets. That price would go down if more people are interested. I'll try to find an SE MTX radiator in the junk yard for them to copy. Since the SVT is only 16mm thicker than the non-SVT... I think doubling that difference to be ~60mm (or 2-3/8" to be exact) thick would be good. If the post locations are maintained, there's enough room in front of the condenser for that extra 5/8". The fans are already pretty close to the headers, so I don't think it should be extended that way.
Funny that the guy was surprised they never made a radiator for the CSVT... that they've always produced aftermarket rads for SVTs. Everyone forgets about the CSVT though. He did say they would be happy to fill the current CSVT radiator supply gap and give it it's own part # for future purchases..
And another gripe about searching and measurements. Pretty much all discussions about SVT vs non-SVT radiators says the SVT rad is double (or almost) the size. If it were double the size, it would be 56mm thick... not 44mm.
If anything I'd look into a cougar radiator.
Back when I had a 1985 z-28, I got a Griffin for it. The quality appeared to be top notch and I never had any leaking problems. I've been trying to find a radiator from a junk yard that's cheap enough, so I don't have to worry about them returning it. Most I've found are for ATX's though.Keyser said:The previous owner of my lexus had a Griffin radiator made for my GS3 before I bought it. It appeared to be excellent construction and the fit was perfect. The only gripe I've ever heard about Griffin was something about them using epoxy in the corners or something. I don't remember exactly what the deal was. It was a shame the hoses wouldn't line up right when I switched engines or I would have never gotten rid of it.
