SZ stress

I made some progress today.

Tinted the reflector from the parts car. Needs two coats of clear now.
Drilled holes and fitted washer squirters for new hood.

Tomorrow is Mirko fitment and drilling. Opening up all the exhaust piping and looking at what I'm up against.

Hopefully I can get the hood and Mirko dropped off Thursday/Friday and pray it's finished for Tuesday.

I'll be in funroe saturday at like 10:30...kinda early so I probably won't make it by. If I have any time after, I'll give one of you guys a call and see whats going on.

d'oh! I guess that explains why I haven't received any responses to my pm's. :blackeye:

I'm really sorry about that Kim. So much going on, it kinda slipped my mind.

Most likely, we won't be picking up the car  , but I will find out tonight.

And how the hell do I have 201 PM's now? Moderators can send to full boxes?

157,700 is a closer estimate.

Ok, I just got off the phone with my dad about the GL for my brother. His 96 Neon has been acting up lately and not sure if it's worth it to invest any cash into it now.

It's misfiring because of oil on the plugs. They thought they fixed it but it started again. There seems to be an exhaust leak from the manifold somewhere. The tranny hasn't been catching gears lately when shifting into reverse or drive.

My dad really wants to pick up the car for him, fix up the Neon and sell it.

If we decide go get it, are you guys around this Sunday? My dad is going to Boston on Saturday and said he could be at your house Sunday morning around 9. He was also wondering about driving it back with no registration. Is the car still registered? If so, can he drive it back and then mail the plates back the following day?

as long as you have a bill of sale and the title, maybe one or the other but most likely both you should be able to get a 7 or 13 day temp plate from CT for the car ... I would think anyway ...

yup, here you go from the CT DMV webpage

I am buying a car out-of-state and need to drive it home. What do I need?
Requirements are the same as Registration of a Used Vehicle Previously Registered Out of State. A temporary registration can be purchased to drive the vehicle home by bringing the properly assigned Certificate of Title, Bill of Sale, (form H-31) and Connecticut Insurance Card to your local DMV branch office. Sales tax (6 percent) will be paid when the temporary registration is issued.

Ugg, yeah, I just read that too. But that won't work since they have the title and we wouldn't be getting it until we pay them in person.

well since you all know each other maybe Mike and Kim would be kind enough to overnight the title to you signed with a Bill of sale that you could go to DMV with ... but thats between you and them ...

Yea it's up at the base. It's a black dew hickey. Car won't start with a faulty one. I think it's looks sim. to the brake plunger dew hickey. We need it for Eurotours new SVT. Bring it to SZ please.

Massachusetts does not recognize temp plates though, so you will have to drive it through New York or something.

from the NH DMV, as example (I've been browsing this site a lot recently):
"I purchased a vehicle through a private sale. Can I drive it without plates to get the vehicle home?
No. You are required to obtain a 20-day temporary plate. Submit the following, along with a $10.00 fee, to the DMV, Concord, or any registration substation:

A photo ID.
Proof of residency.
Proof of ownership.
The seller’s name and address.

Only one temporary plate is allowed per person, per vehicle. Temporary plates are not recognized in the state of Massachusetts."

and New York DMV:
"Important information for Massachusetts residents: Massachusetts (MA) does not recognize the NYS in-transit permit. According to the MA Registry of Motor Vehicles, you can receive a ticket for no registration if you use an NYS in-transit permit in MA. This also makes the insurance on the vehicle not valid. MA authorities can impound the vehicle for no valid insurance. For more information, contact the MA Registry of Motor Vehicles."
