SZ08 Waterford Hills Open Track 5/15/2008

At previous on-track events I've been to, the attire requirements were:

Helmet (SA00 or SA05 certified, not M for Motorcycle)
Long sleeved cotton shirt and full length pants/jeans (at a minimum) *firesuit acceptable to be sure....
Closed-toe shoes (no sandals)

I would imagine we could/should follow this, but I don't know the particular requirements for this track.

I have a Fox racing motorcross helmet, DOT approved ect(dont knwo about the SA00 or SA0). That i was planning to use. I just thought of the Motorcycle note you made. Does that mean i cant use that helmet?

The acceptable helmet ratings are governed by the track and organization running the particular event. To see what the difference is between the ratings, I went to the Bell Helmets website and found this:

from http://www.bellracing.com/public/index/faqs/

Bell certifies helmets to both the Snell and SFI standards. In both cases, auto-racing helmets are rated as either M, SA or K. M stands for Motorcycle or motorized vehicles. M rated helmets are used for motorized highway vehicles and for racing that does not require a fire retardant rating. M rated helmets require a larger eyeport for a wider range of vision. SA stands for Special Application. SA rated helmets are used in competitive automobile racing and require a fire retardant rating. SA helmets are also subjected to additional testing including a test that simulates a roll bar impact. K rated helmets are used for Karting applications. They are subjected to the same test standards as SA helmets except the do not require a fire retardant interior. Please consult your sanctioning organization for specific helmet requirements. The current Snell rating is 2005.

I was previously told that M was for motorcycle, but according to this it could be for motorized vehicle as well. I know that when I did my first SVTOA event, they made a point of saying M-rated helmets were not sufficient for their event.

I guess it comes down to what the track, the insurance company, and/or Steeda says is acceptable.

I have been working on this among a few other issues like they raised the price of the track 100 dollars.

not sure on my thoughts of a dirtbike helmet. i have to dig into that one farther.

every car will have to pass a tech inspection. and sign vaivers which i am currently writing

Re: 4/15/08

You can't put a deadline out there and then push people to pay sooner; or :censored::censored::censored::censored::censored: if they don't. This applies particularly the collective whole of the CEG. Your justified option is to open it up on the 16th for any slots not paid in full by that time.

Much like my taxes, I have no intention of paying bills before they are due. I'll pay them on time thank you very much.

In this case, I'll make an exception; $$ sent.

well, crap... now Hector says he can't afford to go to SZ due to his IRS bill....

We're getting a bit thin here people....

so what is the news about full payments? It is the last day and you were flipping out last week about people getting them in or the rest of us having to pick up the slack. Im curious to say the least.
-
On another note, Do any of you verterans have some recommendations for us new guys. Like things we wouldnt think of for preperation/ before we get there, on and off the track or other things?
