Taurus Rice??

If you really want to smoke them, the '89-'95 SHO is the way to go. That six with the 5-speed will blow the doors off the Gen III '96-'99 SHOs. What a great car. I had a green on mocha that I'll never forget.

except the diffs in those was weaker then they ones in the SVT contour.

Pretty hard to break, actually, unless you were off spinning the tires all over the landscape. I sold my still running SHO with about 222,000 miles with her original diff, alternator, fuel pump, steering rack, power steering pump, and many other things. The car held up very well. I was not shy about putting it on the wood -- the accelerative thrust was excellent -- but I stayed on top of routine maintenance.

If you were really gung ho, RT Quaife makes a limited-slip setup for the SHO. It's a pretty penny -- more than the SVT one -- about a grand plus the install kit.

I saw a crown vic the other day that was a police interceptor with a Power by SVT decal across the rear glass. And the normal SVT badges all over the car. It ticked me off until we had both come to a stop in a Wal-Mart parking lot and I saw him approaching me. He flagged me down to tell me that I had a nice ride, and while doing so I asked him about the SVT decal and badges. He just said come here and popped his hood. Under the hood was a supercharged 5.4L SVT engine out of a Lightning. I was no longer ticked about the badges but rather impressed with the car and work.

I agree, I've driven the V8 SHO, it was more comfortable and quieter than my Old School SHO, but slower accelerating (partially from ATX). With my '91, Drop into 3rd gear at 70, hit it, flies:shocked: I did like the V8's sound!

i havent ridden in a gen 2 sho since high school but i remember it being pretty quick. i do like my gen 3 though, its a pretty well rounded car as long as it doesnt give you too many problems. ive never been impressed with it 0-40 but when it drops down a gear after its up to speed, its pretty quick. and im not just saying this because its for sale...though i am a hell of a salesman

The Gen4 was a custom job, I believe there were two made by two different SHO-specialists.

Someone had an MTX V8 there, but I can't find the pictures.

Check out this thread if you want to see some sweet SHO's from this years convention.

He should keep the powered by SVT on there and ditch the rest of the SVT. That way it isn't misbadged. LOL.

That's probably largly because after 96 the only real changes to the Taurus were surface and then maybe some PCM type stuff. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to take a wrecked 98 SHO for example and swap the entire driveline and suspension, heck probably even interior into a 2006 or 2007 Taurus.

I agree though, that black one is Hott.
