I'm not much a fan either. Surely you remember the confusion we had with the original UltimateBB forums and the regional titles! As odd as it looked to see "NECEG" turned into "New England" in 2003 (along with the others), it made sense to call a region by a discernable title to encourage new users. Much easier browsing the titles than trying to squint at every state in the subtitles to see what section you belonged in.

EGL People have been referring to this forum as "The EGL" for years. It's the largest & most active single branch on the CEG and deserves to be recognized as such. Being an EGLer myself (admittedly displaced at the moment) I feel its time just to make the obvious official. This obviously came from the top so no point in arguing your point against it.
