This is like...a lot of snow.

I have some gargantuan monstercicles hanging of the front of my house. Looks like the temps just harp enough on the roof to get the juices flowing, cold enough to freeze as it rolls down the icicles.

They're starting to grow on the roof outside my apartment too.

I talked to the landlord about the heat a few days ago, new steam vents (no hissing) and thermostat/monitor makes me happy to stay in :)

i need new radiator vents. i feel like i'm in a snake pit when the heat turns on.

i'm certainly not having as much fun as all the hissing and banging emanating from my house would indicate.

We just had a new boiler installed in October and the thing works fantastic. SO much quicker to heat and shut off. They replaced all of my pressure relief valves but the new ones hiss like crazy. Do you have any info about the ones installed on your radiators?

Baco, check the slope on your pipes, you might have water pooling somewhere.

icicles?
you mean these things?

i took those minutes before posting.
and yes, Dinos runner is still outside.
it keeps the neighbors thinking i still have a huge dog.

Yup, just like these:
Ryan, every time you post pics of your house it reminds me of my grandparents'. And they just had theirs sided and painted the shutters so ... it's a white house with blue shutters now too.

I don't know anything about the radiator vents but I'll grab some pics and post before I leave today. Come to think of it I've been meaning to post up my apartment now that I'm mostly settled in.

well so much for the monster icicle.
we just got home and as i was walking in the house it came crashing down.
:(

Well we finally got rid of the Penguin Windows guy.
We had a free home estimate done today and it ended up going a lot longer than expected.
He gave the good ol' sales pitch about the windows being the major problem for our monster-cicles.

so, uhh, we're getting a new bay window in February.
We were going to replace that thing this coming year anyway, and this was the best way to lock into the discounts on the windows for the entire house. So eventually we'll get all the windows replaced, but at our own pace and with the discounts. lovin' it
