So I was out in Scranton today and for reasons of curiosity, I decided to stop at their local Ford dealership to take a look at the Ford Fusion. I've liked these cars quite a bit and wanted to check out a 2007 model.

I wasn't there for more than 5 minutes and I already had a salesman talking to me about it. We all know how they like to rush things around, so before I realized where he was heading...he asked me what car I drove to the lot. I pointed to my SVT. He mentioned he took a quick look at it before approaching me and that he was willing to give me $5,000 on trade to get me into a Fusion.

At this point I'm talking to him about my car and he asks me, "So what drove you to put such big wheels on an Escort?" I looked at him and said, "Sorry Sir, but that's a Contour." I then proceeded to get into my car and leave.

Being a salesman for Ford and not knowing what kind of Ford just pulled in...:nonono: :nonono:
 
Well if you drive an escort thats one helluva body kit you got on it...

Thats just sad. How can you be a ford salesman and not even know fords? Maybe thats why sales are down, the salesmen are idiots. Im sure thats a factor.(did i mention my brother is selling kia's and fords lol, but hes quitting that job anyways).

Before I had my SVT I had a 95 Escort GT and there were a couple people on the FEOA that had 18's on theirs. I'll see if I can dig up any pictures.

That is sad that the FORD salesman didn't even realize what car you had.:nonono:
 
when i used to take that car to the ford dealership here they actually used to ooh and aah over it. to the point it actually got annoying. like i'd be trying to leave and some saleman would be chewing my ear off.

ah....the memories.
 
I had somebody recently tell me that they saw me driving around in a modified escort. I was like... first of all, its a stock svt contour, second of all... you're an idiot.
 
some guy asked me once if my car was the "new" taurus. another said he thought it was a bmw.

but for every person who said something stupid like that, there was one who had respect for the whip and knew what it was.
 
When I had my black one, ONE person out in public knew what it was. The kid couldn't have been over 18 either.

I've only ever had one person know what the SVT was. He said he had one and it ran in the low 13's, :shrug:. Umm, that's nice I said, and I walked away.

I met someone that told me that they were getting 250Hp out of the stock 2.5L with just an intake and exhaust. :laugh: Rob knows who i'm talking about
 
Speaking of people wanting to know what kind of car I have...today on the highway I had some black guys ride next to me on I-380 yelling over to me "WHAT KIND OF FORD IS THAT???"

Needless to say, when they found out it was an SVT Contour, they gave me a thumbs up and yelled, "THATS AN AWESOME CAR DUDE!"

It made my day.
 
ha, it was the weekend for that ... I had the car out to try some data logging with the xcal 2 I just got and when I stopped at a shopping center to check that the bra was still secure this trunk rolls up and the passanger rolls down the window and asks if that is an SVT ... so being honest I said no and confused the hell out of him ... he finally got after I said it was a contour that it looks like a SVT and that I bolted on everything that I could ...

also I don't know if it was just in my head but driving the car with the SVT PCM and having it lean out alittle bit more the car was pulling hard :laugh:
