when you look at the skeleton for the hood you can see right were the intake is. topshop should be able to figure it out easily:shrug:

i realize they are capable of figuring out where the duct goes. i was just saying i could mock one up with a donor hood so people could get a good idea of a duct size, depth, shape etc. instead of looking at a photoshop. i wont waste the time i guess if you dont think it would help.

I actually think your idea is great, as it will help show a more detailed/designed and realistic hood!

Real figures are much better than estimates. It would be much appreciated if you made everything line up nicely rather than a "rough" estimate.

I still insist that the naca be removed I think it'd be such a better look, but.... too many members are concerned with making their cars look like Tumor'ed out autistic rice bowls. OEM+ style cars always look the best, look at Tony's car, boss302's, Goonz....

meh. Ill wait and see what the hood will look like, maybe I can get the naca filled in when it gets painted.

i disagree that an oem car always look the best but what do i know:shrug::laugh:
that being said im not a huge fan of the naca duct either. plus when doing a hood like this certain geometry needs to be figured out as far as the size , shape, depth, and the angle the edges are rolled at etc. as to not cause a turbulance with incoming air which would hurt performance not help

I think thats a good idea. I say go ahead and make that mock up

Well there is a strategy. Your car follows a heavily modified but clean theme. Its the mismatching that kills me.

A slight bulge that follows the stock lines, would be the illest :) But I say that only because im going for subtle style and that would fit my build

Wouldn't that duct end up having to go down into the engine bay?
Anyone have access to a wind tunnel? The NACA duct will have to be in a high pressure area to be any good and directly above the airbox may not be that high pressure area. I suppose one could tape a bunch of paper strips on the test hood to see "which way the wind blows" so to speak while under way.

Also, in order for TopShop to get a price, that would depend on how many orders I would think.

Erm, which is in turn dependent on what the hood costs.

Truth be told, I'm more interested in the small cowl than the NACA; that could always be added to the hood later if people want one. Or, if Top Shop were feeling saucy, they could manufacture the hood with a small cowl and no duct, and offer the installation of a CF Naca before the hood ships. Everyone wins.

prob. a little too agressive for most on this site

I could go for a small cowl with the duct as an option. I think I'll just run that idea by Topshop

Geez at this rate nothing is ever going to happen with this hood GP. I thought the people have spoken through the poll. Option number one is the choice of the masses. Let's get a price and get this thing moving.

Well Topshop already said this isn't going to happen until after the New year anyway:shrug: I have already informed Topshop about the winner. Really everyone is waiting for a price, but we haven't gotten one yet
