It's a bitter sweet end to a 2 year relationship with "Sully" our trusty Saab 9000. It needs some bigger repairs, so we decided to shop around. Turns out 128 Saab got a 2003 95 Arc Wagon with all options yesterday. We did the deal today.

42k miles, 200 HP turbo 3.0 V6, 5 speed Sentronic transmission, heated and vented leather seats, moonroof, roof rails, rear cargo rails, rear parking sensors, self-adjusting xenon headlights. and we paid up for the Saab CPO Warranty to 2009/100k miles.

I'll try to post pics when we make the swap either tomorrow or Tuesday.

Merry Christmas!

AWESOME! Congrats on the new purchase. Can't wait to see pics. Hows the MSM running for you?

The MSM is great. I just passed 7k miles about a month ago. It only gets driven once a week these days.

I need to install my DICE player.

it's funny how little mileage they see, eh? i think i'll be driving it a bit more this summer. i pulled a part-time job to help pay it off, hopefully by this time next year...

i hate car loans.

nice pick up brian.
does that option cover the driver/passenger heating system?
the whole dash has to come out to replace the heater box when one of the flaps breaks off and drops into the box.
not a fun job!

as with any warranty, it's hard to decipher what's covered and what's "wear and tear." i didn't bring up the heating sys, but i did ask about the dash radio/info sys and they said that would be covered.

it's basically an extension of the factory warranty, not an extended warranty. it's technically delivered as a CPO car, so the coverage is full until 100k miles. we got new tires, a full detail and service checklist with the purchase. and they're paying to have someone remove a couple door dings.

the color is cool in the sun. i'll snap some photos tomorrow.

here he is! Meet Archie!

Very nice condition Brian, good luck with the new car. Pick up some of the BBS Aero wheels and the package is complete

Oh, I've also been meaning to ask you if you thought that the Giugiaro design of the Mustang is really phenominal? I mean, it takes Ford's boxy retro cues and brings them to a whole new level of sexy. I personally think that Ford would be crazy to not offer this exact styling package as a limited production sports coupe. But what do you think?

thanks! i'm considering wheels, and i love the BBS Aeros. it's a possibility!
i also really like these:

but it's the wifey's car, so probably not spending on wheels for a while...

i will be getting the iPod adapter, tho.

As for the mustang design, i think it is perfect. i think i posted in Common Interests that Ford should produce that car in limited quantities (<500) and sell them for $200k each. that would really bring the "buzz" back for Ford in general.

one last thing: i got a note from Ira Mazda, they want to buy the MSM back from me for retail (roughly $21k) towards a 2006 model. the letter said there was high demand for the 05 MSM. thought it was interesting....

I used to get those notices from Sentry Mazda in Shrewsbury on my '03. I tihnk it's a marketing ploy to get you in the door. They may give you more for your trade but they won't cut anything out of the car except whatever incentives are running. The new Miata is nice, but I love the look of the 01-05 the best (especially the MSM).

As for the Mustang comment, I revised the post to include a link to your letter to the editor in Autoweek.
