I'm trying to figure out what the acronyms mean in the Drive Cycle how-to: Page 2, number 6

Ford OBD-II Drive Cycle..pdf

"Note, to initiate the monitor: TP MODE should = PT, EVAPDC must be > 75%, and FLI must be between 15 and 85%"

Ok, so I need to pass emissions so I can re-register my 98 LX 2.5 manual. I have gutted pre-cats and mil-eliminators. My EGR is ready, but the O2, heated O2, and EVAP are not ready.

What does "TP" "PT" "EVAPDC" "FLI" mean? can someone translate it for me into 7th grade speak?

Throttle Position = Partial Throttle
Evaporative (purge solenoid) Duty Cycle > 75%
Fuel Level Input (output of the sending unit in the fuel tank)

EVAP will be the hardest to get to run. Check with the local authority that manages your emissions testing program to see how many "incomplete" monitors you are allowed, if any. It varies from two to none with one or two being most common, from what I've seen.

Thanks! I asked and it is 2 incompletes for 1996-2006 cars. My O2's just became "OK", so I should pass now. How
do you get the evap duty cycle to more than 75%?
