What do you think? New motor, or just basic rebuild?

well if the engine runs well, i don't see a big issue with turbo-ing the 2.5L. There's no way to tell exactly when an engine is going to develop problems and the potential is there for any engine. So if it's fine now, i don't see the NEED to use a 3L:shrug:

Well, not really twice. But he's have to pay more. First the "rebuild," But if that fails because of the age of the engine, then he needs to pay for a swap...That's what I meant by "twice."

I said skip the rebuild and just install the turbo kit. Either he:

1) Installs the turbo kit and current motor holds strong. End result saves him a lot of money.
2) He pulls the motor and rebuilds it.
3) Runs the current motor and either the bearings, rings, etc give, and he rebuilds it anyways. Essentially same as #2. You could probably swap in a 3.0L for just a little bit more and do no rebuild.

So basically, either he saves himself a lot of money or he pays essentially the same amount for the rebuild in either scenario.

Decided on 3 liter. Hopefully gonna get it done by early January. I talked to aircougar about doing it since I don't know much even from reading about the 3 liter. I found a couple motors with around 50,000 on them for less than 300 bucks. So eventually there will be another highly boosted 3 liter on here, and its gonna be a mystique!

well im in the williamsport area. come on down to the northeast section and check it out. we have a meet oct 6 and we will be going to harry's sumtime in november.

aircougar is a great guy. almost got a chassis from him. great man to deal with.
