What should i do?

Start checking things like wheel bearings, control arms, subframe brackets, struts, etc. Make sure they're all in good shape. If you start to notice some of those going bad, sell the car.
What the.....??????? :nonono:

I'm just suggesting he save the money for other things like that if he wants to keep the car, or have some cash on hand if he decides to sell the Contour and get something else. I don't see anything wrong with that.

Face it, these cars are aging quickly now. There are plenty of fine, well maintained cars on this site, but the typical Contique out in the market is gonna be pretty much worn out in a few years. Two years from now you'll be hard pressed to find one selling for more than $1500. They're simply gettin' old.

My "What the.......???" was in reply to your,

"If you start to notice some of those going bad, sell the car."

My car have things like that going. I just get them fixed. I do not subscribe to the "I will not keep the car if the maintenance of repairs it more than what it is worth" theory. Quite a few of us are at a point where the maintenance and repairs will exceed the cost of the cars. As you mentioned, there are many now which cost less than $1,500.
