Whats your Fuel Economy?

I suppose it could be worse, but I see many guys driving around at 28 avg, and probably getting 34 highway...but then again my CEL keeps going on and off for P0133...

I used to get at least 34MPG when I was driving on the highway all the time. Though now living in town it has come down. That and I have a couple issues yet to fix that are most likely sucking some mileage out.

Get that code looked after!

I get crappy gas mileage for a Zetec, about 28 highway and 22 city. No mods done to my car (yet), but I do drive reasonably hard. I have been known to floor it from time to time and I always gas it pretty hard from stop lights/signs and getting on the highway, cuz I hate when I'm on the highway and someone is entering going very slow

i got about 30 HWY and 28 mixed on my zetec before the turbo. after i get about 28HWY and 25 mixed. i also drive it hard.

DD - 45mpg in town

CSVT - 18-19 in town

With the old NA CSVT I got around 20-22 in town and 29-31 on the highway.

That's about what I get in town as well... On the highway I get a little better than 20. If I can manage to go 60ish I can get mid to high 20s but doesn't seem like I do much of that driving.

DD gets 26-28 city and 30-34 highway though on 87 so it's all good

Maybe I should add that my numbers on the CSVT are under about 9lbs of pressure. :)

Maybe I should add that I'm fueling a 3L ;) Andddd I have a heavy foot sometimes :p

I'm suprised your MPG isn't any better - after the Duluth meet I happened to meet up with a BMW Z4 and we did, well, waaaaay over the speed limit all the way to Wyoming and I got ~27mpg

Meh I bet I could do 30mpg at 60mph but at 75-80 it gets thirsty

My 99 Mystique got a worst of 19mpg in the winter, me going back and forth to school which is ~2 miles, with the defrost cranking and whatnot.

Not surprised considering winter blend fuels and the relatively short commute. Your car just didn't warm up much over 2 miles so you were running rich for most of the trip every day.

I very carefully keep track of every bit of gasoline to watch my mileage for signs of any problems. I usually drive almost all city, and usually floor it a lot after getting annoyed with tourists.

A/C on, semi-aggressive, all city: 16.5mpg
A/C off, semi-aggressive, all city: 18mpg
A/C on, cruise on 75mph highway: 28mpg
A/C off, cruise on 75mph highway: 32mpg
A/C on, mixed driving: 21mpg
A/C off, mixed driving: 22mpg
A/C off, all city, babying it: 19mpg

So the difference between having the A/C off, and being on the highway instead of around town is almost double the mpg's. I don't have any real modifications, and all my maintenance is really good on fuel filters, etc.

'99 SVT
82,000 miles
Stock except for resonator removed and throttle body optimized
Spirited in-town driving: 20-22mpg
Highway-only with cruise set between the limit and 5 over: 32mpg

Those are pretty much exactly my numbers with the Cougar. AEM intake, SVT TB and manifolds, gutted precats, Borla/Flowmaster exhaust. I drive relatively aggressively.

I once made a point to keep my foot out of it for a whole tank, and I ended up getting about 26 in mixed highway/city.

Yea, it definitely wasn't good. I changed the oil before 3k when I was doing that....

As an update, I just filled up the SVT and got 25.8mpg mixed.... :D
