Wrong thread pattern? Looks more like someone didn't even put lugs on the car in the first place.

Side note: My brother had a set of those same exact wheels for his bmw.

I'd have to agree.. But if he wasn't the one putting them on and they used a impact wrench it's possible.. Though I still don't see how

Maybe if he received wrong lugs from a shop and out them on with an impact I could see them stripping. Dump for using an impact if that's what happened.
