Whoring the Volvo......(56k just sit and cry)

Everyone knows I have it. I just need to get some pics taken and posted.

Such a sick car. Yet I don't know about the whole being able to walk M3's comment. Ahem.

I am sure Rara can vouch that I am one of the biggest Ferrari fans out there (I'd give Goonz a run for his money). A few years ago, Volvo did a show car for the Detroit auto-show painted Ferrari Red and bearing the badge of the Prancing Moose. Its become a bit of a legend/inside joke in the Volvo world.

My magnetic Moose Badges arrived yesterday...good excuse to wash the car.
And now...the moose is loose.....

i gotta get some prancing moose decals...there's a nice blue/yellow r emblem that i want as well, i have to find out who sells it.

Understanding how this moose thing evolved.
Moose History 101: Shortly after the XC90 debuted in 2002, Volvo organized several test drive events, where quite a few Volvo fans came out to see and drive the new SUV's on cone slalom courses to experience the advanced Dynamic Stability Traction Control (DSTC). One of the courses was a special slalom, where a professional driver would take a carload of folks, accelerate to a high speed, take his foot off the brake and gas, and crank the wheel hard one direction, then the other (simulating the avoidance of an object in the road, such as a moose). Many other tall vehicles would have certainly become unstable and possibly lost control or even rolled over during such an extreme maneuver, but the Volvo's DSTC took over and kept the SUV in perfect form without a hint of trouble. Volvo was calling this course the "Moose Avoidance Test," a fairly common test, I understand, for places that might actually have mooses running out in front of cars.

awesome!! that's what i'm looking for, i didn't know it was just the little piece though!

btw that ring on your trunk looks like you got some ostrich poop on there

First order of business when i get back on land is going to be debadging everything except the R emblem on the back. Then I'll clean her up and take some pics.

yeah the previous owner of mine did that...honestly, i thought it might have come that way since he didn't seem to be an enthusiast at all...but either way, it's the way it should look! stock there's way too many badges on it!! i've contemplated taking the volvo off, but nah...
