Why is there fluid in a MTX 75 trans mount?

LOL! How did I know to ask the right question?
PB Blaster eats rubber!!!!!!
How many times do I have to say it!!! You cannot use it even remotely around rubber or it turns to liquid! You may end up replacing all your rubber.

Use WD40 or B&G makes a PBBlaster strength penetrating oil that doesn't eat rubber.

I didn't use PB blaster on the bolts for this mount....... :confused:
sooooo, that still doesn't explain why.
 
You can absolutely guarantee that PB Blaster has never come in contact with any of those mounts, even on a possible over spray?

If so then this mystery may never be solved.

I have owned the car for 8 years and I have never used PB blaster until this build. The clutch was never replaced before I owned the car also, so no previous trans removals on record either. PLUS the only way any could have gotten into the mount is through the bottom which is almost impossible as the top is sealed and no fluid leaked from there.

No, Jerky - no fluid in these mounts
It was really nasty water & delapitated bushing smashed into a pulp and was stinky from being in there so long.

humm, I have a thought... and I think its coincidental; do you ever use water under the hood of your car to keep the motor clean? if your trans mount is original, after 200K miles I have a strong feeling that the mount was torn open, which allowed for water to seep into it whenever you would clean out your engine bay, that water sits in a cool and dark position allowing for mold to form, so that water never got burned off/evaporated.

I have a feeling that this was coincidental... either way, rockauto.com has brand new mounts for like $150
