 I should buy that bish... Even if I have to put a motor in it. I dont care. I really wanna get rid of my car payment right now. Doesnt say if its a v6 though. Im assuming it is. I wonder if its a 5 speed too?

Anybody want a 2k Mystique?

Don't you know how to read? The ad clearly states v6 5 speed

And no I won't help you put a motor in it :p

..somewhat regretted..
:help:Understatement of the year.:help:
I don't somewhat regret. I totally regret buying the car. I traded my 97 GL for it. What a waste of a decent tour. I miss that car so much now.

You will be interested in this. Theres an apartment building by my house and theres been this '89 Town Car there. The guy had it up for sale for a while but then I didn't see it again. Drove by today and stopped and looked at it. Its white/blue leather interior. Stored all winters except 2 down in Florida. Its immaculate. Don't think I could ask for much better. 129k on the spinner and the guy wants 5k for it.:nonono::nonono: I almost :censored::censored::censored::censored: my pants. Looked at the underside and its pretty clean though. Pretty new exhaust it looked like. If I could afford it I would seriously entertain the thought.

I love these '80s threads. Lots of them lately that go something like, "Oh, Laura would know that," or "Laura, help me out, what year is this," or "Laura will appreciate this." Everyone knows that the '80s are my bag.:laugh:

You can pick up a T-Car of that vintage for short money. Especially with the price of gas. The cars aren't bad on gas, mind you, but people think they are, and that alone is enough to send resale on them further into the can.

By the way, I like the term "spinner." Cool.

Here, take a look at this as an example. It's from my neck of the woods, but you get the idea.

This one is apparently free:

I'm tempted to pursue this one:

car is in the shop as we speak.

Just got a call and they said that it would be $150-200 just for the mufflers to be welded on. :O I am tired of the bend exhaust on the car so I said do it. I asked about the y-pipe and they said that would be another 3 hours or so....said F that. I can break every single stud on the thing, drill them out, and put the new one on in that amount of time. Ever since the place got a new owner, no one brings their cars there and all the old workers left. So, I am starting to think after this, I am going to find a new shop.

Oh well, at least it should sound cool

I got my Cougar aligned yesterday and the new tires on the Contour look amazing  Should've got them so long ago.

Well, the more I think about it the price sort of does make sense. They have to weld in the reducers, bend the pipe so it is alighned right (not pointing down etc). At $150 that is roughly 2 hours labor. And I know the guy does quality work...he has been doing this for 25 years. I just can't tell the wife how much it cost.

The email back from that guy with the Mystique.:laugh:

what do you need pics of? it is a v6 and a 5 speed manual trans. if you have any idea whats been done to this car you will want it.

Haha... I WILL want it if I know whats been done to it.

Wonder if he is willing to part it out? I am sure there are things we both want off of it.

Well, the mufflers are now on. Looks  Now I see why it was so expensive. They guy cut off the exhaust right after it split at the end and put in brand new 2 1/2" piping all the way back to the mufflers. So it was all custom bent and welded. Very nice clean job. Was going to take pics, but couldn't find the good camera and the cheapo camera didn't have battaries. Oh well you will see it tomorrow. Slooooooowly but surely it is getting together. Need to buff the clear coat on the bumper now. Sounds just like stock inside but outside it is a little deeper tone...not loud at all. Now all I need to worry about is the ypipe, struts, springs, door, skirt, rear bumper.
