yup

The pictures of the R/C car in the pics and videos section is reminding me how much I miss driving mine. I think I'm going to take it out of the box tonight and start fixing it

That's after I change my tranny fluid (trying the ford synthetic!), bleed my clutch, and fine tune my shift cables some more :D

You can change mine while you are at it. I have a starter to change tonight.

Tony, My svt is lower :D

Boy if mine was that low I wouldn't drive it anywhere  Although it would probably have to be air ride, in which case I could lift it up to drive it

What kind of body do you have? I would love to do something similar

Edit: mine is 4wd :)

i dont remember what eh brand is, i kow that they ar discontinued though. i ordered mine on ebay from a store in new york a few years ago.

the volvo is a tamiya, my porsche is an hpi body, the NSX is a tamiya body, the opel is a Tamiya body. both those chassis are tamiya, but i have an older HPI RS4 as well as another tamiya chassis. basically they have become expesinve models sitting on the shelf, as i hardly drive them anymore. when i showed the svt at car craft, i put the mondeo on the trunk :)

fwd is really cool, because it drives like a fwd car, and burns up fron ttires like a fwd car as well :) slide the car and coutersteer and it pulls right out. pretty neat.

I'll just take out my rear driveshafts to give the fwd a try  I was always having trouble with my car in that the road would kick up too many rocks that ended up getting wedged between either the steering linkage or the driveshaft and the chassis. That and I kept breaking stuff :blackeye: Got old after a while. I will try fixing that one up and getting a new body for it. I think I have a Mercedes body that's all beat up. I would also like a different motor, the 13 turn triple is fun for top end, but it's lame when I have to change batteries in less than 10 minutes (granted I use cheap batteries).

I am moving up in the world. I got a new(er) computer for work AND I got to go chair shopping today as well. All I can say is that office chairs are not cheap. The cheapos are ~$150 while they can go up to $650. That is just wrong.

yeah, i know what your saying with that. you need multiple batteries and a 15 minute quick charger :)

the volvo is a front engine even. its pretty sick and unique. i wish the mondeo body fit on it, but the front goes too low. i walwasy kept one body looking nice for sitting on the shelf, then a beat up one for raggin on the car. my friend and i use to play "tag" with them. yeah, we broke lots of stuff.

yeah, tell me about it. i work at the place that sells them!

I have quite a few batteries and my charger could probably go fast if I cranked up the juice :)

I think I'm going to buy a new motor for mine and go with an old school Chameleon 19T, I used to have one of those and I LOVED it. It was as fast as my current 15T double and the batteries would last forever. It was perfect in my old truck. That thing the flipping differential keeps stripping out though. I replaced all the gears/bushings in it (long story short I had huge tires on there that wrecked it the first time) and it no longer lasts long at all :( I even replaced all my wheel bushings because they were also ruined.

Oh well, I'm looking forward to getting the TC3 going again. Pulled it apart tonight, all I need is a lower control arm. Only problem is that I have the rally kit so I need a 200mm arm which is probably more difficult to find, we'll see what I come up with tomorrow if I make it to the hobby store :D

Oh and I changed my tranny fluid with Ford synthetic fluid, shifts better but not great still. I think part of my problem is with the cables inside. I got sick of putzing so I'll look into it this weekend

i had a problem stribbing gears in my HPI. in fact, mine is old school enough that it is a single belt drive. the shaft for the gear that goes to the pinion gear has a slight bend in it, so it really is a model now. thats what the porsche sits on. that car is a 180mm so finding the right body was really dificult, since most are 190-200.

i dont think you'll have any issues finding the control arms for the rally. that was/is a really popular car.my wheels are HPI 5-spoke. i think i bought them in a white and painted them so they arent as shiney as chrome, but arent as dull as the silver also. they look good

i kept telling people i have to buy a volvo 850 also, since i have the rc car. people look t me like im really strange :)

Do it! :D I could seriously go for a newer volvo for a daily driver, if only they weren't so spendy!

The TC3 is shaft driven, so I shouldn't have any problems with THAT part of the car going bad  I'm going to tone down the power in it anyways so I can just have fun with it and get better battery life. It gets old when you're working on them more than your driving them. That's why I haven't played with them in a while

I put silverstar headlights int he fiero tonight. wow, what a difference!

oh, and i sw a skunk when going out to the car to check them at night. i think it sprayed a little bit ago, cuz now it reaks!

stupid skunks (and i didnt even scar it!)
