I wont say it is impossible to get into 12s, you maybe could do it for all I know. What I will say is that the way into the 12s isnt just throwing more horsepower at it and putting in the standard built transmission. That has been done over and over again.
You need to be doing something different to be taken seriously when you say you are gonna get into the 12s.
12s are not THAT difficult. I almost did it with some sticky tires and a simple notrous setup on my 2.5L cougar. My brother just bought a tour with a 3L. If he'd let me treat his car like it was my own for one night at the track I'm almost positive I could get a 12.9X out of it.

"almost".... being the operative word in that sentence. and if u treated the car "like it was ur own", u WILL break a bunch of things. guaranteed.

yeah. i'm sure. he was simply fortunate. these cars arent meant to be treated that way. anyone who's owned them knows that. besides, the best setup IMO for better ET times are very low power at take off(aka stock), and spray(nos) while rolling. 13.2 i'd imagine wont be that hard.
And there are several people on here that have gone 13.2...but still no 12 sec pass
His was also with a 2.5.... My 3L with bolt-ons is already as quick as his car with a 50 shot & custom tune... and my tour has a couple more bolt-ons to go! Stickies, Spray, & a more aggressive tune will hit 12's... I know he could have hit 13.1 with his Cougar... I believe he hit 13.208 or something close... with plain svt uim & lim... EH'd uim & bored out lim will be better flow for the Nitrous!
As long as the Tour stays in shape & I get the extra cash, He will get my Tour in the 12's within the next 6 months I would say...
Hell Aaron, Give me your Nitrous kit while your building your 3L, (Since your Cougar is off the road until then) I'll order stickies within the next 2 paychecks, & we'll take her to the track!! See what we get out of her...

make sure you record it so people can actually watch the run and see it for themselves. otherwise people will be skeptical that the time slip is actually from a different car.LOL, I just wanted to see what people's comments would be.. Won't be deterred by them... It will happen... and I have a spare car to drive... So everyone that CAN break into the 12's & say they're scarred to break things... Pony up! I will :laugh:
