After my Cannonball Run incident, I needed a new hood. Primed, I just need to shoot it.

 
I guess I'll document my refurbishment here:


Gearing up to fix the dents where the hood hit the roof:





Body filler (ugh):





And before I started on the roof, I played around with some 3M Vinyl:





 
2k epoxy primer and basecoat applied. Now I just have to sand out the imperfections and apply the 2k clear.



 
Clear is on, make shift paint booth is ripped down, masking tape is removed. Lots of orange peel on the hood. Plus a finger print, apparently clear doesn't dry well when it's 40F!!!!


Now I have to wait... and then start sanding, and sanding, and sanding, and maybe some polishing. And then replace the windshield...





 
is that the harbor freight DA?

It is from harbor freight, but it is the 7" variable speed buffer/polisher, not a DA. For $39.99, it worked great. If I was going to do this as a side job, I would look for a name brand like Makita...
