rally innovation harness bar interest check

Every thing I've read/seen indicates the bar should be lower, the lower the bar the more leverage on the belts to keep you in the seat. I would Definately be up for this, would it be possible to get one that's bare (for less $$) so I can get it custom powder coated to match the other interior bits that have already been powdered?

i read somewhere that if the harness bar is set below a 90 degree angle to the drivers shoulder the downward force from the harness on the drivers shoulder can cause damage to the spine...hence why the harness bar is set higher than a 90 degree to accommodate taller drivers...and appeal to the widest customer base...

My brackets are custom. Not wedge and they are about 1" lower than the lowest setting from wedge.

I like the seats. I spent over 9 hours driving to the UP of michigan with them and didn't have a problem.

I looked into getting one of these a year or so ago. Before you make the decision to buy/install, you may want to read some articles on the pros/cons of a harness bar. I myself decided that it is probably more dangerous to have it w/o a cage than to stick with the stock belts. Below are some links to articles you may find of value:

The way I figure it... I've been autocrossing with a torso harness (strap) for almost 7 years... which would have the same safety concerns as this bar. I severely doubt I'll ever roll over auto-x'ing... but for track, a roll bar/cage wouldn't be a bad idea.

Though... could they make a 4 point version with the rear bars extending through the rear deck (following the posts)?

i have a cougar, i wish i could have a harness bar:( i am using my stock seat tracks, and i have everything power but recline on my stock tracks on my new racing buckets with the switch mounted up front. i am pleased with how that came out. i wonder if this harness bar would fit my application cuz i have guarenteed spinal compression till i get one.

Hi Bill,

Thank you for sparking up interest! We can redesign the bar to be
lower
to a common shoulder height but you must let them know that proper seat
position is necessary as well. Also, that is perfect timing on the GB
after Christmas, completely understandable. We're actually closed all
of
next week so we can be with our families as well. I will still check
e-mails so let me know any time.

Best regards,
