2010 Ford Fusion

What we really need is an increased federal gas tax, but the chances of that getting passed in Congress are comparable to my chances of being named Miss Universe.

Very much agreed. We really need that extra revenue to keep the roads in decent shape and work on new projects, especially in a time like this when people are looking for jobs.

I like it allot.
*****SIGH***** From dictionary.com:
al⋅lot   /əˈlɒt/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [uh-lot] Show IPA
–verb (used with object), -lot⋅ted, -lot⋅ting. 1.to divide or distribute by share or portion; distribute or parcel out; apportion: to allot the available farmland among the settlers. 2.to appropriate for a special purpose: to allot money for a park. 3.to assign as a portion; set apart; dedicate.

I'm not sure if I like any of the stock rims available on the 2010. I think these on the 2009 look fantastic, though:

The local Ford dealership had a new Milan and a Fusion. Of course, when I stopped by to take a look at 10PM, the cops came and gave me a verbal warning for my tint. It turns out my tint tested at 14%. Oops.

Believe it when you see it sitting on the lot with a sticker in the window.

Exactly. Thats what I said about a full production Raptor truck and it looks like thats actually happening. A Fusion with the Eco4 would make a lot more sense without stealing too many SHO sales.

Not to be too negative, but I hate every angle of the new Fusion, especially the headlights, but especially the grille.

If I were on the design team, I would have allotted a lot more time on reconfiguring the front end

I agree. This new look was definitely influenced by the beautiful Iosis show car (see attachment); unfortunately, it has no substance to back up the dynamic new look!

No substance? The interior styling and quality appears to be great, the six-speed auto is top notch, all four engines offer great fuel economy considering power output and weight. What more do you want (besides Ecoboost + MTX of course)?

What more do I want? You answered your own question... Ecoboost + MTX would be good for starters. Or maybe a car from Ford with the quality of my Volkswagen GLI & R32... and performance that's at least somewhere close to my R32, but with 4-doors.

When I bought my SVT Contour (in January 1998) it was a legitimate competitor to the Audi A4 2.8 and BMW 328 (if you read the sidebar in Car & Driver's 1998 A4 2.8/328 comparison test you know what I'm talking about), but where those cars have moved forward in quality and performance the Fusion isn't even as good as its predecessor (the Contour).

DT.
