Greetings from across the pond :)

I am using a 2.5 V6 in my mid engine kit car and need some advice to squeeze out a bit more power.

Ok, first my existing mods:
MBE ecu with custom map - all emission stuff stripped away (back to basics)
Water pump removed & replaced with electric one
65mm TB
SVT upper & lower manifolds (with injectors)
Secondary butterflies & shafts removed (low end torque not a problem)
Custom stainless exhaust
K&N filter with ram pipe

Regarding the K&N filter, I would like to know if it would be better to have:
1. Short (200mm) 76mm ram pipe connected direct to throttle body with air filter. Cold air feed pointing to filter.
2. Long (1100mm) 76mm pipe from throttle body to ram air duct in airflow with air filter.

Would there be any advantage to have a long or short pipe on the TB?

Lastly, I have achieved 202bhp at the flywheel which is a little dissappointing so what other mods would you suggest?

Any help will be appreciated :)

Get some headers..Y-Pipe.2.5inch cat-back exhaust.
svt upper and lower intake.
K&N RU-3530 filter with MAF Adaptor.
Xcal2 seems to be number 1 performance tuner chip out there..
Get a metal impeller water pump if your has failed or is old.You can get a electric one..I dont think you'll gain that much from cutting off the water pump and converting to a Electric one..
Im not sure about taking out the Secondaires..Let someone that knows about no Secondaires on 2.5L chime in.

Yeah I'm sure someone with a lot more experience will chime in, but definitly a set of SVT cams if not already in. I'm sure someone will chime in and say go with a 3L, none of that 2.5L business. I mean I'm not sure how much more power you are going to be able to get just doing some basic bolt on's. Optimize the throttle body (~1hp), cams will probably net you come big gains higher in the rev range, make sure the upper and lower intake is free of debris, headers, tune. Yeah short of tearing open the engine or running a turbo, there isn't too much that's going to net you the gains that I think you are looking for.

As for the intake tube, I would assume the shorter tube would gain the best power, but ill let someone who knows a little more on the subject tell you for sure.

And yeah i'm also interested on what mid-engine car this is going into, if it is a Noble, that would be pretty sweet!

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Beans - It's sort of like a Noble ....... if you squint a bit :D

fordman302 - As I said, already done all of that but thanks anyway

yamaha racer 686 / primalzer1998 - Coincidentally I spoke to a cams manufacturer and discovered that the ST220 cams will give a good power increase - a regrind will add a bit more as well. As for turbocharging, I'm not keen due to the lag (even with small turbos) and I prefer the idea of supercharging. The Vortrex blowers are small and produce good boost. Maybe I could use the redundant water pump pulley but I am not sure if it will take the strain. Does anyone produce a kit that won't blow apart? I am looking for 250bhp as a target.

Just swapping out the motor for a 3.0L, and adding a full exhaust w/ SVT cams will get you up to ~250bhp. Definitely a lot cheaper than going F/I as well!
