Carbon Fiber Shop

i agree, from what i have seen people really do want products that they could make.

I should have went back and looked. It was actually 16 people that put themselves on this imaginary list of buyers, for these eyelids. Honestly, 16 people showing interest on such a cheap item, doesn't show a bright future for selling larger items on this site. I just don't see 20+ people throwing down cash on a larger item such as a hood, that will bring them in the kind of profits they need to stay in business. It's just not a smart business decision, when there are larger markets available. Just my opinion, so you guys can carry on.

maybe its just me but they should have waited till summer to try to advertise too. i notice in a lot of the companies i worked for, sales drops during the winter. i know right now moneys tight for mebut during the summer when work picks up i can get stuff. but i'm hurting to get enough hours to pay bills

I just got an email from him about some other parts, IMRC cover would run 200 and a trunklid would run 500 and im waiting on a price on the base plate on the mirrors and i told him about the eyelids and he wants someone to send him one so they can make a mold. I also told him to check this forum.

I got another email back from him, It will be 150 for both bases of the mirrors. I think having the trunklid, mirrors and a hood done in carbon fiber would look o so hot IMO.

The mirror bases are wrapped so you would have to send in your mirrors.

**** thats right....hmm well now I don't know what to do. Maybe if he comes on here and shows that he is all about doing this and gives a turn around time then I'd do it. I can't exactly give someone my mirrors for weeks when my SVT is my DD.

Sweet I have an extra set of mirrors I might have to get these!! Are we for sure he will do this?

Screw it....if he can guarantee a fast turn around then I'm doing it.

Wonder how long it would take for me to get a ticket for not having mirrors?

Meh...I could probably find some other vehicular transportation for a little while

NVMYSVT....how can we get the ball rolling on sending him stuff etc. Do you happen to know the approx. turn around time?

not entirely sure... I just basically overtook his Cougar thread over on New Cougar and told him that I still had sail panels and mirrors I wanted to send in - he told me to send em in

I have a spare set of sail panels so I dont really care about turn around time all that much but I assume it cant take that long to wrap something like that.

Actually I dont think you have to have side mirrors as long as you have a rear view mirror, I dont know though it could be the other way around. You could always go to the junk yard and get two for probably pretty cheap, the turn around and sell them. you would be driving with some different color mirrors for a bit.

Actually, it is a requirement that you have a rear-view mirror to the left and to the right of the driver. The one to the right could be the inside mirror or the outside passenger side. But, the one to the left is, well, the one to the left.

I'm sending in a set of mirror bases and sail panels tomorrow to get wrapped by Topshop... They are going to call me or message me with the exact cost to paypal once they look at the items.. I will relay the costs I was requested to pay to all of you.

BTW -- I waited this long so I could win a set of mirrors off of ebay.. hell if I was going to disable one of my cars while the mirrors were gone... ALSO, not sure if all of you are aware on this but you are going to have to take them apart before you send them in.

I figured it out tonight.. it always looked like the black plastic base could be seperated from the colored shell and it can...

you need to remove the 2 screws on the bottom and then the 1 screw inside... once you do that then you have to pry the mirror backing plate off - remove the gold screws inside the motor mechanism, depress the tabs on the black "arm" and lastly remove the harness clip so you pull the entire harness out the backside. Once you do that you can fully remove the 2 pieces and just send in the black plastic portion for wrapping or just the colored shell if you want that portion wrapped instead of the mounting base.

Great work and thanks for the update. I definitely plan on doing the mirror bases. Let us know what they run, turn around, and all the other details.

I got the quote today from all the parts I sent in to Justin... I sent 2 sail panels and 2 mirror bases.

I got my quote for 4 pieces which I think is fair... I'll be paypaling the money as soon as he gives me the address to send it to and an ETA of when I can expect my parts back.
