Idea for the system.

I like it. Now, what else in the trunk is going to have that cloth covering it? Why don't you build out the underside of the trunk lid? Something like what the Audi's look like...

That box that's been on hold for the last few weeks is going to be wrapped in it, also I was planning on getting a spare tire cover for inside the trunk from any car and cutting it to fit the trunk lid and using the material I'm basically theming the car with. It'll also hide the dynamat that's on the trunk.

That was one of the first things I fixed. ;)

So cover it with the stock trunk fabric, or the material I'm using on other pieces?

I think it would like better with the other material. Fix the trunk light! Chris, you beat that car up! :(

i didn't break the light, and i didn't beat the car up either. i live in ny.

lol i seem to remember a few dents on your car for a few years myself!

Lol! I'd like to say I did not spark this. ;)

Chris, it was broken when I got it, but it wasn't noticeable because it was wedged up in there. No big deal though, the junkyard let me get it for free.

Trust me, I'm looking for a cover as we speak. I intended from the start to put a lid on it since it would hide all the ends on the material. I'm just trying to decide what I want to use on it. Aluminum sounds good, but expensive.

I think it looks much better, and it'll be even better with a floor in the trunk. i'd say get a thin piece of wood and just make a cover with the same material.

and you didn't spark nothin', i know the light was broken...i don't know why it broke it just did - chris saying i beat up my car cause of it was fugged up is all :nonono:

No dents, you must thinking of someone's else silver SVT. I did get into a car accident, rear-ended, but no one saw it in person, other than my family and ex. I took plenty of pictures though.

The only damage I really have is the normal lower bumper scrapes, thats it. Also the rear bumper needs to get resprayed. NO RUST, no holes, no nada.

I may not live in NY, but I took the SVT into the city EVERYDAY for 4 YEARS. All different times of the day and night, even at rush hour (when I got rear-ended).

I may have had other problems, but 95% of them were caused by th. Leaking trans, wiring all corroded, passenger side keyed (seems like the car was left 'abandoned' by him for 6 weeks, in the woods surrounding his property).

Chris, I made my comments only after I saw the SVT at Carlisle. I was pretty disappointed and pretty happy with the progress Glenn had made.

In other words, my comments are warannted. Glenn, keep up the good work! :)

Edit: The NY excuse is quite lame. I have a few friends that live on SI and their cars are still nice. Look at Bill's ex-SVT, lived in Queens and never had rust.

I'm not trying to swing from your nuts Shaggy, but seeing the trunk of your SVT is what sparked this increase in building out my SVT's trunk.

Do they have garages? do they live right on the beach?? bills car was never driven in the winter...and i can't even speak for how mine was treated before i got it. i know it had been parked under a tree in the grass for a long time when i got it...and it already had 50k on it. in 2001!

and yeah, you did have dents on your car...a nice baseball size one in the drivers rear quarter where the bumper starts. it was there for a LONG time too, and i saw it in person several times. It wasn't from a rear end accident either, and if you still insist that it wasn't there then you're lying.

i'm sorry you feel disappointed. but your comments are not warranted. mainly because you don't know what you're talking about. The front bumper was not my fault. It was a blown out tire on BQE after coming around a pretty blind turn at night. I suppose I should have just swerved and hit the person that was right beside me though  there was no way i could have safely avoided it...or i would have.

the car also was involved in 2 hit and runs. would you like to see the police reports?? you saw the damage from one at SZ02.

But somehow that's all my fault and i beat up my car

hell i drove to maryland and bought a SF door off a guy who was parting out his car cause I wasn't happy with the body work after the first hit & run - and that was after making them do it again!

The scratch on the rear passengers door was there when i got it.

The rear bumper and the dent under the tail light were caused by me backing into a pole. The only damn thing i ever hit out of a stupid move with that car.

Had i kept the car, I would have had all that stuff fixed....but since i wanted a new car i decided it was more practical to sell it at a VERY reasonable price. And glen can attest to the azzload of replacement parts i gave him with the car and that i had every intention of fixing the blemishes. Not to mention the $12-1500 i spent on it right before selling. New plugs/wires, alternator, brake pads and rotors (front/rear), new 02 sensor, oil pan gasket, new tires and i cleaned up the wiring from the battery relocation under the hood and also added a better fuse in the rear.

Regardless, the car is mechanically sound and in it's prime looked a whole lot better than yours did chris, and it still does....don't come on here and tell ME how I treated MY car. Cause you really have no idea.

EDIT: oh yeah, i forgot...how many times was your featured in the CEG calendar?? And how many times was it car of the month (when it was still being done)??

Exactly....
