KKM intake?

Is the kkm intake worth buying or no? :shrug: I have no idea when that nautilus one is coming out so I was just wondering if that one is worth the time and effort.
 
KKM are nice intakes, my SVT had one when I bought it. but the inverse cone filter isn't the best thing out there. I local member to me one plugged up the end of an inverse cone filter and the car performed better.
 
Mine works pretty well. I don't have much to compare it to since I went from stock to KKM and I haven't tried anything else.
 
Id wait for the Nautilus Intake. Looks like its going to be a good performing unit. Btw, I think that Cosmos intake is the same as the Bomz intake on ebay. :blackeye:
 
I'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that the KKM intake filter shows little gains compared to the K&N filter used by most CEGers. Swap out the filter and remove the snorkel and it's a great intake. But at that point, it's not worth the cost at all.

Again, this is why the recommended setup is:

MAF Adapter + K&N RU3530 + Custom heatshield.

explain the "science" (for lack of a better term), behind that, please. Im curious.

not 100% possitive but I believe it has to do with airflow. With the inverse cone filter you have air enterning the filter and at least two different angle which will cause alot of turbulence in the airflow.


I forget if he dynod to show the difference but it definately was noticable in the seat of the pants as I remember
 
Yeah it was dyno proven at one of our dyno meets. I remember that, if you are talking about JSmith, that is.
The turbulence was the issue.
 
this would be the same for zetec guys witha reverse cone filter right? :shrug: how did you plug it?

good thinking, ill try that. I got an extra filter sitting around somehwere. This is probly the only thing i will learn while im at school today :blackeye:

Got it today and your right. Looks just like the Bomz :rolleyes: First thing is to get a K&N for it, Now if i could only find one of Puds heat shields :nonono:
