the one's the probe guys drive around w/ actually hang under the car..as in,you can see it if you look at the car from the front...i've read exactaly ONE person say they hydrolocked the engine...and that sight has more than double the members this one has,meaning double the potential for problems.

How can it hit the fiilter you should have the splash guard under your car if you removed the splash guard I still can't see this being a issue the filter points down so water can not rest inside plus I run this setup on my turbo cars for years with no issues and if you are really concerned go to lowes buy some 18 guage aluminum for $8 and shield it but as far as height it will not contact standing water before you get water in the car. Sorry, meant 1'. And I agree with Joey, I didnt have my splash shield on my turbo contour and I never had issues with sucking water in the filter.

When I said compared to the RU3530, I meant the standard 'kit' that everyone does: MAF adapter and RU3530.

The kit comes with the MAF adapter,bolts,clamps,coupler, and K&N Filter (RE-9030)(6"OD/5"OD/6"long/3"ID Inlet)

Yes you can get it powder coated just buy the MS plain and send it to someone you know is fairly cheap heck you might get enough people together they may do a group purchase on coatings Joey

I run this filter on the turbo kits you have 113 inches of surface area to suck air through that is the advantage of cone filters Re-0930 that is equilavent to a 10.5 x 10.5 flat filter which you see on big V8 motors from OEM now if you want to pay $20 more I can supply you a 9" long filter which is what I use on the 3 liter turbo kits it has 169 inches square inches of surface area equivalent to 13 x 13 inch square filter for $20 more now my personal opinion is you won't outlflow either one NA but if you don't clean your filter regularily then go with the larger one so you can still have extra flow when dirty. I'm curious.. Do you plan on making something that will replace the accordion tube? I'd prolly be more interested in both if you did/do
 
I will build a intake pipe to replace the accordian tube to see if there are any gains beside looks but I imagine I could add a short ram to match the cold air but it would be my guess the setup would be for looks more than the preformance side since the rubber is the best insulator for the cold-air coming into the engine as long as the air doesn't tumble to much from the stock pipe.

I'd love to see a cold air pipe that goes from the throttle body, to the filter, 1 giant pipe, with a bung built in for the MAF! Is this even possible, as i see it everywhere...

see how its one pipe and there is a spot for the maf? Why cant something this nice be built for the contour?
