Making room for the turbo...

that was me!

those are my pictures that i posted over there to help the guy out in his install.

yes it was, I have been refereing back to that thread a few times now. just to double check you ran the power cable like I plan to right?

I thought about running it through the interior as well, but didn't think I would have enough room due to the thickness of the 0 gauge...plus, it's a little difficult to get the wire to make sharp bends unless you heat it up a little...

just checked out your link...very clean install! Where did you run your grounds in the engine bay?

thanks!!

if you look in that first picture i posted in the link, right below the distribution block there is the main ground. that is a stock ground location in the frame. a couple wires go there. the others are hidden in other factory ground locations (if i remember correctly i think i have a few on a ground under the maf). just look around the battery/fuse box area there are plenty of factory grounds around there you can use already.

how close does that main ground get to the turbo? Did you route it differently to get it away from the heat?

good question, it isn't as close as it looks though but yes i had to make a new ground wire from the block to that ground so it would sag down below the turbo, i also wrapped all my hot piping with header wrap. you can't see it in the picture but as soon as that main ground goes out of sight in the picture i have it in one of those 2000 deg. thermo sleeves all the way to the block. i don't take any chances either!

you can find this stuff cheaper other places, but i have went that route before and you never know when you will get it. i try to use summit all the time if possible because i know i will get my stuff in two days max!

how much did you need of everything?

that's a hard question. i used probabley 3-4ft worth of sleeve all together on my oil drain, ground cable, and a couple other small misc things. i have also used probabley 45ft of 2" header wrap, that is covering every piece of hot side piping in the kit and portions of my stock headers around my oil return, also a few other little misc. things as well.

planning on running any sorts of cooler air to air or air to water and how abouts and oil cooler as well

oil cooler would be a nice add on definaltely was on my buddies corado as well as a delay on the electric cooling fans so they would run for 5 minutes after shutting the car off.

doesn't a turbo timer work by putting a delay in the cooling fans?

Keeping the cooling fans wouldn't do much to help the turbos.

Turbo timers keep the motor running to circulate the oil while it cools down.

we have a delay after the vehicle is off the fans remain running for a period of time cooling the cars coolant down and oil cooler down hence cooling the oil big difference on engine temps. he does not run a turbo timmer

I've been wanting to ask...what benefit does the digital readout have since you'll never see it when you're driving?
