New pics of SC done

Wow. Pretty much all I can say. That is an intense setup in a small amount of space. Must be so gratifying to see it coming together so well. Can't wait to hear that beast.

by the looks of it, the contour cowl hood wont work :(

Just means we will need to invest in a hood like this... who wants to donate towards the $4200 mold to get-r-done??

Hey that's been my idea
Those fiberglass hoods are 2-piece clamshell type. I have the outer side from a hood that came apart (2000 Cobra R 'power dome').
If someone who has the skill could graft it to a stock contour hood and then make a mold, I'd definitely donate it. Would prefer local because if it doesn't get done, I would want it back---my plan has been to have my local body guy graft that to a stock steel hood down the road.
Like I've mentioned before, that 2000 R style or a stock style hood are the only 2 I'd consider for my car. This should give clearence where needed for a SC and continues the SVT theme while matching the Contour body lines well.
So, good idea Mike

It was your idea first. I just remembered it and posted it again

So cudos to you for the fantastic idea

Personally I'd rather have vents along sides of the hood that are functional to pull hot air out of the engine bay from my turbo. Plus I thought I'd make two on each side so that I could use one to exhaust hot air and the other to take in cool air for the turbo.

I was thinking something more along the lines of this Vorsteiner BMW vented race hood ...

Well I am just few hours from starting the car I spent two days rebuilding the plenum from that skinny pipe to a nice tapered part to flow better plus I positioned the TB to fit to any aftermarket cold air system by just using the reducer or straight. I am thinking about everyone who has already invested in the cold airs to save money. I will post a video on youtube when I first cracnk it and do some throttle punches that is pne thing I really like about SC they boost under no load........:}

Not sure how much taller the blower sits than the UIM did, but the Speed6 hood was ATLEAST 3" taller than the regular MZ6. Basically high enough to fit a 2.5" thick intercooler with 1" of clearance to the cam covers and another 1/2" or so to the hood pading. So probably more like 4" taller!

Nick the supercharger right now is sitting in a mazda 6. And it clears the hood with plenty of room.

Curious... what's that doodad where the TB used to be?

The EGR valve maybe if are you are referring to the plastic dome cap behind the TB.

I'm guessing he is refering to the fact that these cars have throttle by wire. There is no TB cable. The TB opens via a small motor/solenoid (the doodad) operated by the ECM, which is driven off of a position sensor on the gas pedal. Wife's Mazda3 is like this, but I'm not a fan. They did not get the tuning right in my opinion.

I agree, my Dads 6i has it and when going from my SVT to it, it feels like there is just a slight delay from when I press the pedal to when the throttle actually opens. you get used it if its the only thing you drive, but its annoying to almost stall it out every time you start if you're new to it.

I think all drive by wire cars do it. My Civic does it and my wife's Volvo does it. I wish it just had a damn cable. My wife's Volvo is way worse than my car though, though that may have something to do with it being an ATX.

They do make boosters though that plug in line on the throttle input so that you get almost instantaneous response. Kind of expensive though :\
