pic says it all

Brian, you installed a TH rebuilt trans right? How does it shift with all the updated forks and whatnot?

not sure what shift forks where installed but they where brand new. yes it was a HMS rebuild with 56k on it, 7k on the rebuild.

It shifts great, very smooth. once I get my shift tower keyed and reinstalled it could even be better I think.

Note to self: Must set up race date with Brian before turbo is installed.

I cleaned up the SVT yesterday and drove it today to work. It feels like I'm driving a new car all over again. I forgot how much fun it was.

Nice work Brian and Greg. I personally like the E0's more than the E1's. I'm getting my highflow cat on tomorrow so hopefully I can jump in on Tony's racedate and see how I fair.

I want in too......whenever you go to the track.....and before you put in that damn turbo kit you pulled out your ass.I couldn't even have my 6 months of being faster, but now that you have the 3L, isn't it nice>?

whats with everyone wanting to race? I can understand Tony's reason, or at least I think it is to compare a hybrid to a ported 3L ...

I want revenge for the highway to newport.....:blackeye:

ok understandable, but your car is coming along very nicely and big props to you for going 3L and mtx at the same time .... beside I was just trying to have some fun on the drive to newport ...

don't forget you will still be fast then 2 of my cars ...

well all was going well until about 1pm this afternoon. Started heading up to aircougars and I see some white smoke behind me, then alittle out of the hood. I pulled into the next parking lot and kill the enigne and alot of white smoke pours out from under the hood .... engine bay and under the car are covered in antifreeze. The upper radiator hose split and sprayed coolant all over. So I let teh car sit for a few minutes and then drive right back to the apartment which was luckly a few minutes away and put a gallon of water into the coolant system. I then ran around the corner to ctmystique to rinse off some of the coolant and we taped up the hose. Luckly he had a spare hose that we had gotten from Greg the weekend before when ctmystique powdercoated the water cross over tube for the heads. So sometime this week I will be swapping that hose out, and once again when the samco hoses are delivered. Luckly the temp guages didn't spike and I had heat the whole time I was driving so I think everything is ok.

Its to bad as I was really looking forward to driving it to my parents this weekend. It had also been performing very well. No active or pending codes either.

man that sucks. glad you caught in time and didn't hurt anything. sounds like the project is going well otherwise. nice job.

yeah I was very luckly at it happened at a good place and time .... so far so good. Thanks to Rogers help the hose has been changed out and its running great again.

so I am just not catching a break with the cooling system on the car. The hose that we put on developed a leak from what looks like a small slit in the hose. So Roger and I replaced it again yesterday with another left over hose greg had. But when I went to pull the cap off the overflow tank last night there was no release of pressure .... turns out the o-ring on the cap was missing a peice and I don't know where it went

It isn't big but its enough that I am partly concerned. So at a minimum I need a new cap and I need to try to locate the peice ...

ugh .. that sucks. But at least you know what you are doing!

I sure hope I know what I am doing

At this point I just need the hoses to last until I get the Samco hoses ... Its just getting frustrating. The car is running very well and I want to drive it, and I have been driving it. Maybe it just isn't use to being driven daily ...

I'll check around my house later, but I don't think it would be around.

yeah I wouldn't think so either. but then again I dont remember the system having any pressure yesterday when we openned it up, but with the small split in the hose I could see that beaing the reason ....

did both hoses split in the same place?

no, the first was at the bend at the front corner of the engine where it turns to go around the battery to the radiator. this is also where it got foldered over.

the other hose was back near the water cross over tube in the heads.

ok, just checking.

"foldered" i like that term!
haha
"i foldered her over the couch and gave her a good railing!!"
