Picked up a 2010 Speed 3

Just saying that I know what brand of intake kit I'm going to buy. The brand name is SURE Motorsports, hence why I mentioned that I am sure that I'm going with SURE.

Be careful, I am not sure that SURE still doesn't cause a CEL with the 2010+ cars.....................intakes on our cars are slightly different than the Gen1 guys.

Hi all. When I bought mine, the PO included a CAI with it, otherwise, I would have gone SRI. One thing I have noticed is that, when it is cold outside, I tend to get a CEL. Read that it is due to the density of cold air vs. warmer air.

As for hydrolocking, I've driven thru some hellacious rain lately w/o any issues. The fenderwell IS vented, but the vents open downward, making it a bit harder for water to fly up when wheel is moving forward. Just my .02.

I do LOVE the sound of the BPV once you put on an open intake.

Now they do...at first it was the same and people were getting CELs plus fuel trim levels were off. See here.

SURE has been replacing the "older" Gen2 models with new ones and people have reported better trims and no CELs.

That's one long thread but at least SU is taking care of the problem. They told me June before I could get one, so I would expect that by the time I get by parts, they will supply me with the corrected pieces.

SU is good stuff. the new SURE line was heavily researched. They'll make it right. Stuff happens and I've never heard of SU failing to come through and satisfy the customer.

How's the car been?

Car has been good so far. It just turned over 1600kms (1000 miles) so it's time for an oil change.Only things I could ask for are a sunroof and a more substantial stock BOSE subwoofer. It's a great car to drive.

Did you end up getting an intake? I'm about to pull the trigger on a Corksport SRI & Turbo inlet pipe. Havent really tore into the engine bay yet, looking forward to getting a better look at everything. Looks like quite an in-depth install.

I haven't done anything yet. I still have the TIP, BPV and some other little additions, that I have to install. I'm just not sure what to go with, and, I've been busy with my Cobalt finally getting around to installing some parts on it. ;)
