Hello,
My 2000 svt developed a rod knock last week and I've decided to go 3l instead of fixing the current engine. I plan on using 3l heads with svt cams/timing, uim, lim, tb...ect. I need to get it done quickly. Anyways, being as I live in washington state where everything is more expensive, I have two engines I'm looking at. They are from the same yard and both have 90 day warrenties.
2002 sable 29k miles for $700
2002 sable 52k miles for $450
Those prices are high compared to what other people get, but I live in washington. I don't have the money to do this in the first place, but I have to because it is a daily driver. Would either one need reconditioning?
My Point: I don't want to save $250 on the 52k mile engine just to spend more on reconditioning it. I really don't want to remove the heads.
Opinions would be appreciated.
