Pwntbywombat 3L Build Thread

If I would have torn mine completely down I would have Powder Coated everything.

I don't know... I'd think that would help retain a lot of unwanted heat. I think I'm just going to brush it, wash it clean, and then clear coat it to try and keep the grease and grit from working into the pits of the metal.

Uhm if your going to clear coat then why not a color? The clear is going to give the same sealed coating as the pigmented application.

bagged, whats the status on the new swap? where are the pictures? i want to see videos of this thing running. even though she belongs to you now, she is still my baby! haha

That car hates your guts:laugh:

Yea but I like the aluminum look. High temp colors in powder are all silvers, grays, or blacks from what I've seen. So might as well just clean up the block and obtain the true aluminum color of the engine itself and just clear coat it

I could buy colored high temp paints, but I haven't had good luck with those. I've prepped and painted the 350 in my Camaro at least 3 times now each time when the motor was pulled... and the paint lasted maybe a year at best before it started chipping off. So I'm not going to bother with that anymore.

Ok now I understand. Not that you don't want to coat for heat reasons, don't want to coat for color reasons. The only thing that comes close to the aluminum look might be a textured silver but it still is a lot less bright.

Nothing against you pwntbywombat, and you seem like a bright kid, but you have been constantly giving 3L and swap advice to everyone since bagged has bought your car. It bothers me in the worst way, I think you understand why....... anyway

Well today I took a break from everyone elses projects and I tore Down the engine and pretty much rebuilt it. Tomorrow I'll get a few pics up. She for sure don't look like she used to.
