Thankfully the weather today turned out to be pretty decent and I got some good progress! First, the dash....I must say it turned out better then I thought it was going to, and looks like its an OEM black dash! The great thing about the dye I am using is that it cant go on too thick or heavy leaving "spotty" type areas, so its all one color no matter how much I may spray more in an area vs another one. You can compare it to the wheel, which is obviously MNB. Black is 100000x better! Especially in/on my SVT
So then as I said yesterday, I thought a black dash and black trim pieces would look really bad/plain so I had them primed and ready for paint today (prepped shots in above post). I also then decided that seeing how my Pre98 center console's cupholders didnt work (broken, cheap design :laugh
I should mold it over. Plus, seeing how I had my console black on the outside and had the stock "grey" center, it wouldnt match up to the black stock trim peices which is another reason I decided to paint them...sooooo heres a little color teaser, and the molded cupholders in the console. (No, I dont use them anyways so its not a big deal to me)
In the sun, theres sooo much flake in it its amazing....its a bit darker in real life than in the photos (flash brightened it up from the flake in it) ...its a nice gunmetal color. I think its going to look awesome against the black interior
For the motor, my friend had to take off a bit early today but we got some good progress....got the AC condensor undone, pulled the axles, unbolted the ypipe, almost got the rad out (gotta change the rad support bolts, rusted to hell so I figured why not) ....all I gotta do now is get the shift cables off and then chain er up and undo the mounts to lift her out. Teardown will begin after that!
Little parts collection pile....candy tred valve cover, weapon-R ypipe, etc .....yes, its all dusty ...thats what happens when the car sits in the garage since September
And finally, one of my 2 cats approving of my other parts
