It's been a very sad week for me so far. Saturday night my neighbor slammed into the tour at the left rear bumper while it was parked... in my driveway!!! Apparently the rear frame rail was crushed, and the trunk floor buckled and split. The bumper was destroyed along with the side exhaust pipes also. The shiny frosting on the cake here is that the force of the impact pushed the contour into my wife's Taurus and busted the rear bumper up a bit along with the tours front bumper, and swung it out of the parking spot about six feet.

The real major question is... should I try to rebuild her? I have to face it that there is alot of internal damage here. I could buy it back from the insurance company and part it out, it's got 80k on the engine ( from a 99 cougar ) and 50k on a rebuilt tranny and new clutch. New suspension parts etc... i just put four grand plus into this vehicle in the last 18 months. It still runs and drives well, but with a busted frame rail, it's really not road worthy anymore.
Maybe I should look into finally getting an SVT model. Hmnnnnnn

Well, it kinda goes like this...it's 10:30 at night, she was trying to get back to her work to lock the door, apparently in a hurry, so with fogged over windshield speeds off down the alleyway (mind you now her driveway is about 200 or so feet from where the tour was parked) and from my living room I heard and could swear I felt the sound KABLAAAAM!!!!!!! and then the alarms went off. Cops say she was going around 15MPH. I say twice that.

C'mon, she pushed about 7,000 pounds of cars out of the way, luckily the Mustang was missed by about six inches.

I think its SVT time.

Good news is you can part out that pre98 and probably compensate for your loss, and find a well kept SVT and not be to far behind.

i wouldnt try to rebuild her. you can get a very nice svt for the cost of the repairs. it will definitely be totalled if there was frame damage.

is she elderly or just handicapped? Ive seen to many elderly people hit things. luckily when one t-boned my mom it was ruled his fault lol. but i have also seen to many cops favor the elderly.

My SVT was rear ended by a car going about 40-45 mph, and it didn't even damage the frame like that.

Theres no way in hell she was going only 15 mph.

Simple deduction shows she was traveling approximately 45 mph. The police need to lay off the crack they have confiscated:help:

i was accused of hitting a car at 80 mph (my speed) and there was not marks on my car. men vs women... men get blamed even when we did nothing. i had to pay 1500 for a new bumper on an explorer. again... the dirt ON the paint wasnt even moved! yes i was at fault for crashing my car but i crashed my car to avoid hitting her! cops are gay. sorry if i offend anyone but i dont like them unless i know them personally.
