Well, Edmunds likes it.

I'm sure you can buy whatever car you want for under 30k, but the fact of the matter is...to sit there and say "It's a Hyundai, so I won't buy that for that much" is extremely ignorant. Extremely.

It's like still thinking we can't have a black president because of the past.

On the contrary, I'd totally buy a Genesis. It is a very very good value.

Doesn't negate what I said about other cars also being a very good value, though.

Not necessarily. He just said there's better cars to spend that money on. For example, an Evo 9 is just a hair over $30k

Ugly as well.
well.. we have the mazdaspeed 3 starting abt about 24k

mustang starting at about 21

mazda 6 starting at 19

nissan 370Z at just a tick under 30k. a bit on the higher side.. but..

should i go on

Mazdaspeed 3 is a good choice, I will give you that...but still FWD vs RWD

Mustang for that price, it is a V6. Even if it is a V8, the Genesis still has the same HP out put

Mazda 6. No where near the same performance level

And for $29,930 I'm betting you get a stripped 370Z. Where do I sign up!

Edit-
332 hp / 270 lb-ft of torque 3.7-liter V6
6-speed manual transmission with upshift indicator
18" aluminum-alloy wheels w/ 225/50WR18 and 245/45WR18 Yokohama ADVAN Sport® tires
High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-functional xenon headlights
power outside mirrors
illuminated Z side marker emblems
Nissan Intelligent Key™ with Push Button Ignition
AM/FM/CD audio system with auxiliary audio input jack
Six standard air bags

Dont go on, but please explain some of these silly choices. You'd take a wimpy v6 Mustang over an all around better car? You'd take a Mazda 6 grocery getter over a rear drive play car?

Apparently they forgot about the 2010 Mustang GT (Premium). Bigger, faster, stronger. MSRP of under 31k.

Bigger yes. Stronger probably not. Faster maybe in a straight line.

Why not get a V6 mustang and put a terlingua racing package on it?

The genisis aint to bad though, but I cant stand the back half of it. They should have made it slower so people would only see the front half of it in their rearview on the interstate. At least from the front it looks half decent.

And looking like a clown while doing it.

Honestly at 6'6" I look like a clown driving anything but a crew cab truck. :)

Cold air, suspension and a short throw shifter would make some difference but unless you're talking the Performance Pack where you get the supercharger its mostly just prettier. Then again I wont pay for anything with the Shelby name attached to it.

Obviously bigger. 315hp > 306hp. Faster in a straight line is all that matters to most, well at least me.. 5.2/13.7 (motortrend-stang) vs. 6.4/14.5 (edmunds-gcoupe).

Ummmmmmmmm....car isn't even out yet. :help: I will take the 2035 Ford Mustang while you are at it.

The Genesis is a neat car. They definitely could've made the front end look better than what they did, but I'm sure it appeals to a lot of people. I would just rather spend the money on a more proven car with a better aftermarket.

One word...Depreciation

If you buy the Hyundai plan on keeping it a long time otherwise you are gonna take it in the shorts much worse than many other cars when selling.

I think Hyundai has been making quality cars for the last decade and factory warranty is a big plus also. But man keep a car 2 years and lose 50% value, ouch! and then often you cannot even sell because upside down on loan amount vs current value.

I used to laugh at those figures for 5 year cost of ownership but not anymore. Too big of variance in resale value between Mfgs.

Bigger in terms of exterior size, weight and fuel thirst is what I meant. Your average Mustang GT driver might care about 0-60 and 1/4 but I know the average Coupe owner wont care much. The aftermarket is gonna be decent for the Coupe but right now people are mainly doing stuff for the 2.0 since its the more tunable car. My favorite thing about both engines is you dont have to run premium unless you want that little extra power.

I'm also excited that Hyundai plans on bringing the Tiburon back with the 2.0T engine so some power adders for that engine out of the gate would be nice for all the tuners.
