As far as the headers from Marty the deal he offering will be a excellent price to have. I will buy a batch and spray them with the VHT and cook them for a little extra price to help corrosion and some heat retention unlike the bare headers you may order now. Now if you take your headers and send them to a jet coat or ceramic coating business tack on shipping and cost before buying the headers and if you want setup a seperate group buy with my coatings and have the headers shipped to me then you can cut costs on shipping. I will sell my headers coated with VHT with ceramic for about 250.00 plus shipping.

So bottom line question Joey:

Do you mean that we will be able to get ceramic coated MSDS headers from you, either separately for about 250 + s/h, or as a part of the Stage 2/Stage 2 Plus/or option kit? If ordered along with the turbo kit, would the price be the same (we save on s/h) or there will be even better discount? Not that it's important, but I just need a definite confirmation that we can get that from you because in that case I am holding off my purchase from Marty this month, and wait to get everything altogether.

He said the smoking was from the the restrickter on the oil line was to larg nd thats why is was burning oil and smoking but he fixed it. And thanks for answering my question warmonger. One other one though how much will yall charge just foir hte tune file, or will you be releasing that at a later time?>

Did Joey's tinkering Thursday night and switching to the bigger injectors take care of the smoking?

No.
The smoking was caused by the lack of a restrictor on the oil line. The duratec oil pressure is quite high to the heads. Too big of a line will cause oil to leak past the turbine seals and into the exhaust pipe. The drain line size will also affect that. This was a classic example of that and what we did was reduce the diameter of the oil feed into the turbo and the problem is solved.

As far as tuning in Spain: I have no idea how we are going to solve that problem right now unless I get some more information on the PCM that Ford is using over there and find out if we can tune it.
In your case I can provide written out timing and fuel tables in excel or something so that he can adapt them to tune your car. We will try to take care of you the best we can.

For the basic tune file in the kit there should be no special charges. It will use our exclusive timing and fuel tables that have been proven over multiple turbo cars and be tailored to the pcm of your car. However, it will not be fine tuned and it is no guarantee that you will be making all the power that you can make on the kit. To determine that would require us to do the whole appointment at the dyno thing I described above. It MAY be the best and safest tune for your car though.

If you are using a different MAF than stock, or different injectors then what we recommend, altered sensors, special cases because of fabrication etc. then there will be additional charges.

This will be the standard tune that will be available with the kit in a file format. We are deciding to provide the file "locked" so it can't be read by anyone else, but provide the tunefile converted into the appropriate PCM code to the buyers of our kit who don't have us do further tuning. This will be a basic safe tune for you to load into your own XCAL2, or any other dealer/dyno operator can load into your pcm and get you up and running right away. Detailed tuning can be done through us even at your local dyno, we will just make an appointment with you where we will be on call on the phone while you are on the dyno and as you make a run, I'll make any adjustments and then email the tune to you immediately, or to the dyno's email and they can upload the changes.

Hope this explains our vision of how we will provide customer support to people who are far away.

Ok. So for someone like me with the PRP and Xcal2 in hand...we will be sne the tunefile and i will be able to load it onto the car. Datalog and make changes if i please?

ok I can do a seperate batch of headers for those who want to protect their headers with VHT here is an article on the header paint. I will tell you it is not the same level as jet coating but it will fall between the two. I noticed the headers held up well during my use. I will charge 250.00 with headers to paint them and cook them to curing.

OK, guess I am assured that I can get that from you. So I will wait and pass Marty's generous offer for now. Just please don't tell me later 'oh, sorry but the headers are not available any more ... '

EGT is the downpipe is pretty much worthless in all reality.

I have mine about 2-3" from the exhaust port as well.

The 14:1 i agree is definately time to shut down.

How have you determined what your ideal EGT's are? Not that you haven't done a lot of trial i'm sure. I was just curious. Seems like subaru people just kind of pulled it out of their butt and most people see 1600f as the reasonable limit before potential piston and valve melting and fun stuff like that.

And for the European buyers??
Did you think in the hour difference? and the call price? and the language?
I think that the detailed tuning in our local dyno can be a pain with that method.

See this link to SCT forums:
http://www.sctflash.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7231

SCTs European counterparts have tuning solutions for that market here:
http://www.dreamscience.co.uk/

We should be able to make some sort of a deal with a dreamscience dealer in Europe to help tune products going overseas.

You will be able to load the tunefile with liveload or extremetune and use it and make limited adjustments to it. You will not be able to load up my tunefile and just start editing it with your PRP....some people would then share/sell it to other people and nullifying my hard learned knowledge.

If you are a PRP owner you can always experiment on your own.

EGTs:

We don't have any verification about the EGT values being "bad" or not. All we have is trial and error as you pointed out but using the Stock EGT values mounted in the same place as a basis for comparison. Less than these observed stock temps is safe, greater is unknown. As more people log and report temps then we will map out what temps are "safe".

For me, I've observed the temps under boost when the engine is correctly tuned to my satisfaction and the EGTs under full boost in 3rd gear climb to around 850*C
Obviously the duty cycle of the engine is an important consideration. Short durations up to 850 may be just fine with cooldowns between runs. Sustained may not be. Also the RPM you see the temp increases at plays a huge role. Higher rpm is shoving a lot more cool intake charge through at a faster rate so that can help sustain the higher temps. I would say that low rpm this would be bad.

Ok guys I found the issue with the leaning out the drain on the catch can was off so their was unmeasured air entering the system leaning it out. I turned up the boost to 7 psi and the motor is very strong and hold it to redline. So the precats are allowing the boost to go that far and the intercooler is not backing up yet. I will be doing intercooler measurements this week and I will be lining up a dyno for Sat. if possible. The car feels right at 270whp since my last motor was 9:1 and it made 289whp on 8 psi therefore the 10:1 stock should make up the difference.

I will turn up the boost on the dyno to 8 psi if the car is under 275whp because I don't want to exceed that on a pre-99 motor.
I will be posting the price tomorrow so stay tuned and maybe a nice video of the car.

I think you will be able to reach your goal of 275whp on 7psi ... good luck!

That's very impressive BTW ... 100-105 whp gain over stock SVT with only 7-8psi ... very impressive. Best part is ... all for under $3,000 ... congratulations!

Thank You Fastcougar

I know you are familar on what kind of work it takes to develop a kit that can be repeatable and reliable too. I finally caught up with my sleep and now the boring part is here the paper work and crunching numbers. You are right when you quoted that it is harder than most people think and we are underselling ourselves for what it really should be worth. But we are planning on selling accessories and main products and this kit will be a good start. If we were to contract the labor out we would have to raise the price but for now the price stands as long as we are the ones doing the manual work.
Thanks again to all our supporters.

The price per hp is amazing. I dont see how anyone with the money, that wants to keep their SVT hanging with all the FI imports would not want this kit. It seems WELL worth it! I cant wait!
