yup

Careful on those icy side streets. My wife just slid through an intersection and nailed a cop car. On the bright side the Cobalt will be getting a facelift....

My wife slid of the road in her Murano near her work into a snow bank and a stop sign a week ago. It's in the shop now getting fixed. We claimed it and so far the bill is up past $6k which seems a bit rediculous considering it drove fine after and only seemed to have a big dent near the back quarter panel, big dent in the driver's door, scratches on the roof, and some broken trim around the bottom from the snow bank. I would have thought the dents could be pulled easily but apparently not.

Two days ago I slid into a snow bank in the Audi at about 2mph while making a U turn on a back street. Put a small crack in the bumper, front grill, shattered the fog grill, and some how broke a plastic nub off of the auxiliary radiator end cap which dumped all the coolant out. I was able to tear it all apart that night and get a new radiator in there before bed time. Cost me $320 for a 6x6 auxiliary radiator though. That dealer charges $160 more than the online sites for that radiator which is ridiculous. I'm replacing the fog grill but not going to do the bumper or center grill as the cracks are tiny and replacement is over $800 plus paint for both.

 How did the whole engine thing work out anyways?

Replaced a pcv valve and it helped somewhat. Still looses a bit of oil but it isn't as big of an issue. Dealer f'ed me on the pcv replacement. $1200 for a bunch of random diagnoses which didn't point at anything and then they decided to replace the pcv. Extended warranty didn't cover any of the diagnoses only the valve itself. F'ing extended warranties are garbage and that Carousel Audi dealer sucks. They mentioned that I might be trying to pull something (aka: drained oil out myself) because they were all too stupid to find the real problem. They sent me a survey shortly after and I made sure to rip them a new one. Oh well... I still love the car.

For what those extended warranties cost they shouldn't charge you for anything!

I have known a couple times where people have those and they get screwed. The wife had one on an old car of hers and the head gasket went right away. So she brought it back and they said it would still cost her like $400. She kind of told them that it wouldn't cost that much.

I'd never buy an extended warranty on a car now that I know what they cover. Supposedly the warranty I had was one of the best and it still sucked.

Yup. You ask what does it cover....they answer, everything with the powertrain...engine tranny etc. If it goes wrong, we cover it.

Not so much from everyone I know. You have to pay to see what is wrong with it, you have to sometimes pay labor, you have to pay to have it brought in etc. :nonono:

Looks like fun, you pick the cabin that's furthest from the dock?

My parents rent a cabin pretty much every summer, but they like to stick closer to civilization
