yup

Contour came home on a tow truck - my Spec 3+ finally blew up, can't run the engine from the horrible vibrations. I've got a Clutchnet Stage 3 to put in, got an insert on the way for my flywheel... Yay - transmission is going to be taken out again...

This does not make me want to drive my car w/the spec 3+

Drive it hard much? My Spec 3+ is still holding up great with the 3L supercharged. I know people have had issues with spec but I really don't want a puck clutch in there so I'm crossing my fingers it will last much longer.

I'm going to go with a Clutchnet Red Pressure Plate and a stock SVT disk in my car to keep it driveable and hold the 3L abuse (if I ever get around to swapping my clutch), but I don't know if that would be enough for your application

Yeah - I probably drive it harder then you do with your SC car. It has been vibrating for quite some time and it took out the ToB as well - getting clutch dust in the MC and it slowly leaks now. I've got a clutchnet red pressure plate and 6 puck clutch waiting to go in - all I need is a Fidanza insert for my flywheel. I found out this afternoon nobody has them in stock and I'm basically screwed until they come in unless I drop the mega coin on a complete flywheel.

Thankfully I've got some great friends and I can drive a spare vehicle until mine is fixed, but I'm waiting on parts for now. I'm done with Spec - that brand new stage 1 you installed when I got the car didn't last 10K miles before it was fried - possible when the flywheel was resurfaced they didn't do the outer step, it slipped bad under WOT. There is no excuse for my stage 3+ to vibrate and blow up like mine did - no way my sub 200hp car could damage a clutch rated over double the hp/tq I make.

This is what is going in whenever I get my insert...

you can't match an organic material clutch with a red disc. red disc is made for ceramic metallic and the tolerances are all wrong. the stock disc is too thick.

on a side note i have 25k or so on my clutchnet disc, maybe more. it holds up amazing. it does get a little chattery, but i also have shot LCA's and poly filled motor mounts. :)

I think you mean red PP, and from what I read on the clutchnet site all their stuff is made to stock specs so it should be interchangeable.

Clutchnet site said:
Red 2X racing level pressure plate. It can replace the stock plate.

All of our pressure plates are interchange exactly with a stock pressure plates without any shimming or modification.

If I don't go with a stock disk I will probably go with something like this:

http://www.clutchnet.com/product.php?productid=9319

As that would actually be cheaper if I bought that AND a Ford TOB then the SVT Clutch Kit from Ford. Granted I could probably get a few bucks for the SVT PP though.

err yea you know what i meant.

Nope. I sell off most of my old stuff cheap. :) Someone always wants someones old stuff.

Nice. I've got an AMD 2.6ghz dual core setup in a cheap case that works, but just doesn't have the kick I need. I was thinking about throwing a tuner card in it and using it as a TV since I have more monitors than TVs in my house

I think I should finally do up an i7... i7 930, gskill 'reamer' 6gb ddr3-1600, evga 250 (or better) gpu, antec 750w ps, evga x58 757 mobo... Then throw in a decent fan and overclock it to 3.2-3.5ghz

Then these 25MB RAW pictures won't know what hit them

Use that computer as a media center. Download a bunch of movies on to it, and if you are bored, just hit play :) Or network it to your main computer and stream it off of it.

I already have a different media center pc that's better  It's also networked, but I have a different computer setup as a file server that I use for a centralized storage.

I want to build a new computer, but already have too damn many computers.

Anyone else have this problem?

Well it depends on your meaning of too many computers.

For me I dont have enought (still need file server and media pc for projector), My wife thinks differently :p
