yup

maybe the two euro shops up there could help
theres SCI
or Further Performance idk what kinda deals they get on tires but you could always try
also,
go to eurowerks next year and youll see me :)

I was planning on going to eurowerks one of these years.

As far as euro shops in MN I've read a little about this place: http://www.imolamotorsports.com/_root/ If I was going to setup shop somewhere that would have to be pretty close to how I'd want mine to look. That place is very nice looking inside.

For tires I'm probably as low as I'm going to get. For the clutch I'm definitely doing it on my own so I can learn more about the car and I already have a source for cheap Audi parts. Imola does list a S4 clutch install price of about $900 but that might be for the older bi-turbo S4.

Well, you probably don't want to sit on the hood for prolonged periods of time. Might leave cheek prints.

Or I would cave it in. :p

I thought I read the transmissions in them weren't the strongest things in the world....not that the dif in the counters were that great either.

So, what do you guys think. Should I drive my full 3L without a tune for an hour to get the tune? Or do I need to trailer it?

I think it would probably be fine driving it there, but I don't have much experience with the full 3L swaps.

That is a far way to go on something that isn't going to be running well at all. Personally, I would just yell at Tony here, get his truck and rent a car dolly. :)

It would be about 65 miles to get there. I have the EGR deleted and the 3L injectors, so I assume it would be running rich. Unfortunately I don't know many people who could tow for me so I may be asking for a CEG favor.

You think there would be any issues with KSports and a car dolly?

You might be too low for a car dolly.

Freaking sissy!!! LOL. When I had my old SVT towed, I had to jack the car up so the tow truck could get the arms under the front bumper. But you should be able to just get some longer 2x8's or something and use those as ramps to get up to the dolly. That was with D2's on it.

I am sure you COULD drive it there since you have the 3.0L injectors but I really really doubt it would be a fun drive.

Sounds like you have a nice little car there. :)

i'd say tow it. rent a uhaul truck and dolly, and tow it . better safe than sorry.

Hopefully I can arrange a tow, I'll for sure try and make that happen.

Thanks, it actually runs now so hopefully there aren't too many kinks to work out. Although my starter is dead, kind of wish it would have died before I put the engine back in. I'll definitely post the details when it's tuned and running properly. It should be a totally different car when it's done. It went from bone stock to a full 06 3L with most of the bolt-ons you can do. I can't wait for the weather to warm up.

I did the same thing. Went from a stock 98.25 (LOL) SVT to the pudmobile. The change was a little drastic to say the least....you will be shocked at to how hard it pulls all the way to about 6K. Your starter might just be gunked up too. Take it out and spray it down with some carb cleaner or electrical cleaner....see if that will make it engage. Sometimes they get stuck from clutch dust.

This snow has to melt! The car has been down since May last year so I'm ready to get it back on the road. The torque is what I'm most looking forward to, I didn't redline the car too often before so the added low end will be really nice. I'll pull the starter and clean it, I really hope that's all it is. It's the original starter so I wouldn't be too surprised if that did the trick.

It's not just the getting it up onto the dolly (though that will be tough too), but the rear bumper/exhaust tips will be close to the ground while up on the dolly. I suppose it depends on the dolly and if you have nice flat roads... A dovetail trailer would be a safer bet, at least once you get it on the trailer you don't have to worry about it anymore.
